It was very disappointing start of the season; I was unpleasantly surprised. I thought they would start off strong to show clearly their intentions for this season. But it's just the first game, I'm sure that things will change. 

Barcelona and Real Madrid will have their first clash of the season tonight and I will be supporting Barca, as usual.

However, this time I might have two rational reasons for backing them:

1. They are hungry for revenge after losing the title last season.

2. They have a new coach and that can bring fresh motivation to some players.

3. They seem to be in better shape than Real after winning the first match of the season 5-1 while Real only managed a 1-1 draw.

The second half was absolutely stunning!

First Real took the lead, then Barca fought back in style and made it 3-1 before Real pulled one back 6 minutes from time.

It won't be a quiet bet this time, I'm sure, because I decided to put my money on one of the most exciting Premier League fixtures of the weekend: defending champions Man City vs my beloved Arsenal.

Both teams have shown decent form so far this season and it will surely be a spectacular game. My belief is that Arsenal will not lose the game but winning it might be too much, so I decided to bet on a draw. I'd be very happy if Arsenal would win it though :)

Since betting on Arsenal went well last week I decided to have another go even though today's match will be a tricky one: Arsenal vs Chelsea.

However, Arsenal have shown much better football so far this season than Chelsea so I hope they will be able to push for a win today.

Pretty much on track at half time, Chelsea opened the scoring but Gervinho made it all square again three minutes before the break.

It should be a cracking second half as both teams seem capable of scoring more goals today.

Definitely not my lucky day...

First I lost $50 on BlackJack and then Chelsea beat Arsenal 2-1 with two rather fortuitous goals. Needless to say that Arsenal wasted a few good chances again, especially during the last minutes.

Oh well, I guess I'll make up for it next week.

It's a special day today: the "El Clasico" day!

Barcelona will take on Real Madrid in the Spanish league, the match I've been waiting for since the start of the season.

Needless to say I'll be supporting Barcelona, they play the best football in the world and I hope that will also bring them a good result tonight.

It's a very, very tough match...

Cristiano Ronaldo scored the first goal for Real, then they had a huge chance but luckily failed to convert it...

Then Barca started to look more like their usual selves and Messi made it all square.

So it's 1-1 at the break but there are no guarantees that Barcelona will win this one, it's extremely difficult.

Nope, it didn't come out the way I had planned it... Everything seemed right when Messi put Barcelona in front after the break but then Cristiano Ronaldo made it all square and it ended 2-2.

It was the just result I'd say, even though Barcelona did have a pair of very good chances during the last five minutes of play.
