I've just placed a bet for tonight, a combo bet on three events. Here they are:

Indian Wells - Novak Djokovic v John Isner - Novak Djokovic to win

This one is almost 100 percent safe, Djokovic will probably win quite easily.

Fiorentina v Juventus  - (Goals Over/Under) Under +2.5 goals

This is one of the most heated derbies in Italy, the rivalry between the two teams is one of the biggest in the peninsula. Fiorentina's days of glory seem behind them though, they are down in 15th place at the moment, but the game against Juventus is as important as ever for their fans. On the other hand Juventus are in 2nd place behind Milan and they can't afford losing this game. I predict a defensive game with both teams trying to secure a draw so I believe there will be little or no goals in it.

FC Sevilla v Barcelona - Barcelona to win

Barcelona are 10 points behind Real Madrid at the top of the Spanish League but I have not given up hope for the title and neither did Messi and company. So I believe that they will win tonight, especially considering that Sevilla are not having a great season at all.

Yeah, I know... I was totally stunned by Isner and unfortunately so was Djokovic... I would have lost the bet anyway though, Juventus won 5-0 because Fiorentina had a player sent off early in the game. But Barcelona did win, a small consolation...

I decided to go for a rather risky combo bet today, on five events! I might lose another 5 bucks but if the bet goes well my balance will go into green so I guess the risk might be worth taking.

There are four tennis events matches in the bet plus one soccer match. The tennis matches are all from the Miami tournament and I basically chose the favourites to win.

I've got a simple bet today in an attempt to stop the losing streak... Basically I chose a combo bet on three soccer games and I believe that normally those matches shouldn't cause any upsets. I placed my money on the favourites, a safe bet overall but who knows...

:D Finally, congrats! I couldn't follow the matches but according to the scores it seems that everything went relatively stress-less.

Tottenham vs Swansea was 1-1 at some point in the second half but they pulled it off quite smoothly in the end. The other two matches were fairly quiet, that's nice for a change :)

It's that time of the week again! :) This time I decided to go for a Premier League bet, two games are included but one is considered safe. Here is the screen shot of the betting slip from Sports Interaction:

So, the safe part is that Man United will probably beat Queens Park Rangers at home, I can't see how they won't win this one. The second part of the bet is all but safe though, Arsenal vs Man City is an unpredictable match, at least on paper. However, I believe that it will end in a draw because I can't see any of the two sides being strong enough to win it. I will need some luck though, that's certain :)

The easy part went well, now let's see how the tough one will go.

It's 0-0 at half time between Arsenal and Man City... It's quite strange but I'm hoping for a totally boring second half :)

Well, I have mixed feelings right now to be honest. Arsenal played a very good second half and wasted a pair of huge chances after the hour mark. I was considering myself lucky at that point, just as the Gunners had every right to feel unlucky.

But justice was done four minutes from time when Mikel Arteta blasted one in to give Arsenal a well-deserved win. I lost the bet but I feel that it would have been a bit wrong to win it, I wouldn't have wanted to see Arsenal denied a deserved win just for my 5 bucks :)

It's almost certain that Real Madrid, Barcelona and AC Milan will win, that's the easy part. The tough part can be Man City at Norwich but I believe that the Citizens will prevail due to the quality of their players, even though they have shown unconvincing form lately.

Well, the bet is off unfortunately, because all the soccer matches in Italy were postponed.

A Second Division player suffered a heart attack and died on the pitch today so the Italian FA decided to postpone all the remaining matches this weekend. So AC Milan vs Genoa won't be played today, and I guess the FA did the right thing there.

Sports Interaction will probably refund my stake, that what usually happens in such situations.

Yes, it is... He died during the Serie B match between Livorno and Pescara, just collapsed on the pitch and died.

Oh how sad to hear this.  The poor family who were likely watching when it happened.

It's time for a new bet, hopefully it won't be affected by any more tragic events. This week's bet is about soccer again, and that's mainly because we'll have the biggest match of them all tonight, the mighty "El Clasico" in Spain, the huge derby between Barcelona and Real Madrid.

It's no secret that I'm a Barcelona fan, and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for them tonight anyway. So I thought I'd add some incentive to that support :)

Barcelona vs Real Madrid is, obviously, the trickiest part of the bet and I believe that if I get that right, the other two should be pretty safe. Man City should win at last placed Wolves while AC Milan can't afford to slip up at home against mid-table Bologna.

The tennis side is the easy part of the bet in my view, Gilles Simon and Rafael Nadal should win quite comfortably today.

The basketball side is a bit more tricky as I bet on the San Antonio Spurs to win by more than 11 points against the Utah Jazz in game 1 of the first round of the NBA playoffs. I think that the Spurs will want to give a clear message right away in this series and, even though the Jazz did well to reach the playoffs, they will be unable to cope with the Spurs.
