Thanks Blue. My gut told me that this won't be a draw, hopefully my instinct will prove right :)

I'm quite happy because the score at half time is as follows:
Manchester United 3 Chelsea 0 !!!
Chris Smalling scored the opening goal, then Nani made it 2-0 with a ferocious shot from distance and Rooney scored the third one minutes before the break. I seriously doubt that Man United can let this victory slip through their fingers now.

Given the fierce rivalry that is unfolding here I decided to show my support for the Chicago Bears by putting my money on them to beat the Green Bay Packers tonight!
It's not a safe bet at all, on the contrary, but I like rooting for the underdogs :) The Packers are strong favourites to win the game but I hope that playing at home will help the Bears...

Don't you dare feel bad girl! You stand proud and to be honest it is all in good fun and i have enjoyed over the years the rivalry between our teams.
The last thing any of us want is for you to feel bad! We both have a real passion for our teams and there is no one i like better then to go up against another passionate person for their team. It makes it all that much more exciting!
I must of thought of you ten times during the game on Sunday and everyone in Chicago knows who Medtrans is when i watch the game! It just wouldn't be as fun without ya!
Besides we gonna whip the Packers butts at Christmas. I already sent in my letter to Santa ;)

Since the football bet didn't go too well I decided to go back to soccer this week but that is mostly because there will be a special game tonight in the English Premier League: the North London Derby that will see Tottenham taking on Arsenal at White Hart Lane.
This is one of the hottest rivalries in England and this time Tottenham are the favourites given Arsenal's terrible early season form (they lost three games out of the last six). Tottenham come from three consecutive wins and they surely will be doing their best to grab the fourth.
But I think that Arsenal are bound to return to their former glory or at least show some pride in this derby and that is why I decided to put my money on a draw.

The game is simply awesome, extremely intense! But things are not looking good for me and the Gunners at half time, the Spurs are leading 1-0 courtesy of Rafael Van Der Vaart's goal. However, I feel that Arsenal have what it takes to fight back and I hope they will do that in the second half.

Arsenal did fight back, they even managed to make it 1-1 shortly after the break but that didn't last as Tottenham bagged the winning goal with a bit of help from Arsenal's goalie who let in a shot from distance. I feel sorry for Arsenal these days, it seems like there's no way out of the tunnel...

What a shame...because of your bet and because it's Arsenal. So sorry to hear that.

It's time for another bet but I have to admit I was lacking inspiration this week. I had no gut feelings about any event and since time is running out I have to place a Sunday bet just to keep the wheels in motion.
I chose a rather safe bet but it's a bit risky too since it's a combo bet on three games. The event is the NFL, the American football teams are getting into the heat of the season and I believe that could make the favourites less likely to stumble and create upsets. Here are the three games that I have picked:
New Orleans at Carolina - (Moneyline) New Orleans
Seattle at NY Giants - (Moneyline) NY Giants
NY Jets at New England - (Moneyline) New England
And here's the betting slip from Sports Interaction:

Darn it Johnny. So close and yet so far. Well done on the two though. Better luck for your next bet.

Thanks Blue, I hope to find better inspiration this week.
How about a bet on the Liverpool v Man Utd match on Saturday? I'm just going to post a money back special on that match too.

We'll have a cracking soccer derby in the English Premier League this weekend and that game is the obvious choice for my bet this week. Liverpool will meet defending champions Manchester United at Anfield Road in a game that could give us a better idea of the strengths and weaknesses of the two teams.
So far Manchester United recorded 2 wins and a draw away from home while Liverpool are unbeaten in front of their home fans as they recorded 2 wins and a draw at Anfield Road since the start of the season. On paper Manchester United seems to be the better team but Liverpool are incredibly strong at home, mostly thanks to their extraordinary fans. So, taking all that into consideration, I decided to bet on a draw... Here is the betting slip from Sports Interaction:
The game will start today at 12:45 GMT, I'm already preparing to watch it on TV in glorious HD :)

Good luck with your bet Johhny. Looks like you have done your "homework".
Hope you enjoy the game.

I always do the homework but that doesn't necessarily mean that I'd win. Luck is still a big part of it so thanks for the good luck wish! :) I will surely enjoy the game, that won't change regardless of the result.

Yes! It's over and the score is 1-1! I was fearing the worst to be honest as Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard had put his side ahead after half time but substitute Javier Hernandez made it 1-1 with around 10 minutes left. Then Liverpool had a few chances but bad luck and a fantastic David De Gea between the sticks denied them the winning goal.

The Texas Rangers take on the St Louis Cardinals in game 4 of the World Series tonight and it will surely be a crucial game for the Rangers as the Cardinals lead the series 2-1. The Rangers will have to give their best and win this one, otherwise the World Series might slip through their fingers.
The Cardinals really outplayed the Rangers in game 3 yesterday and won 16 to 7. That is quite uncommon since the Rangers rarely lost at home during the post-season and that is the main reason behind my bet: I find it hard to believe that the Rangers will lose two consecutive games at home. So there you go, my money goes on the Rangers, regardless of the starting pitcher.

Congrats Johnny. A good result and hopefully the start of another streak. Well done.
blue
Thanks Blue, it looks like I've found the inspiration again ;)
Glad to hear that Johnny.
I bet you're glad you didn't gamble on the Man U v Man City game? What a result that was. Man U looked pathetic and I never thought I would say that. I did feel for their goalie though - he had that look of despair on his face.

I'm glad indeed! I have to say that I was unsure about the result, didn't have any "gut" feeling about it, but I would have never imagined that it would end like that. It was a huge humiliation for Man United and their fans.

I admit that I didn't feel much inspiration this week so I decided to go for a "research" bet. There are plenty of NFL matches coming up tonight and I selected five games to bet on, a combo bet that is based on the teams track record and overall strength. Here are the games that I have selected together with the "reasons" of my bets.
Arizona at Baltimore (Moneyline) - Baltimore to win
Arizona road record: 0 wins, 3 losses
Baltimore home record: 3 wins, 0 losses
Indianapolis at Tennessee (Moneyline) - Tennessee to win
Indianapolis road record: 0 wins, 4 losses
Tennessee home record: 2 wins, 1 loss
Jacksonville at Houston (Moneyline) - Houston to win
Jacksonville road record: 0 wins, 3 losses
Houston home record: 2 wins, 1 loss
Miami at NY Giants (Moneyline) - NY Giants to win
Miami road record: 0 wins, 3 losses
NY Giants home record: 2 wins, 1 loss
New Orleans at St Louis (Moneyline) - New Orleans to win
New Orleans road record: 2 wins, 2 losses
St. Louis home record: 0 wins, 3 losses
Here is the betting slip from Sports Interaction:
There it is... I don't feel much confidence about this bet but I hope it will go well ;)

Here we go...
Arizona at Baltimore 27-30 - good!
Indianapolis at Tennessee 10-17 - good!
Jacksonville at Houston 14-24 - good!
Miami at NY Giants 17-20 - good!
New Orleans at St Louis 21-31 - not good :(
Went close again but not close enough... I was quite sure that New Orleans would beat St Louis but...
