Yeah, I guess Vettel is becoming a bit complacent after winning all those races in the first half of the season. I thought he would push for the win but it looks like he was satisfied with the second spot.

I decided to go for a tennis bet this week and since I've been following the tournament in Washington right from the start I chose to bet on the semi finals of that competition.

There isn't much to say really, I chose a combo bet on both semi finals and decided to put my money on the two favourites: Stepanek and Monfils. Their opponents, Americans Young and Isner, did well to come this far in the competition but I believe that Monfils and Stepanek are better players at the moment and that they will show that today.

Monfils vs Isner was a thriller... The Frenchman won the first set 6-4, then Isner took the second 6-3 and the decisive set went to a tie-break where Monfils saved a match point before winning the match! That means I have a winning bet, hurray! :)

Here we go again, time for a new bet! I hope that the vacation will give me more inspiration for the choice of bets and probably that confidence pushed me to choose a rather unusual combo bet this week, a bet on two different sports!

1. Tennis

This one is pretty obvious, I bet on Novak Djokovic to beat Andy Murray in the final of the Cincinnati tournament. Djokovic is the best player in the world at the moment and Murray will be unable to stop him, I am 100% sure of that.

2. Soccer

The Premier League started last week but I was away at the time, otherwise I would surely have placed at least one bet on the first match day. Since that wasn't possible I decided to put my money on Manchester City to beat Bolton today, the Citizens were impressive last week and I believe that Sergio Aguero, their hot new signing, will see them past Bolton although it might not be too easy.

Bolton vs Man City starts in less than 5 hours, then Djokovic vs Murray will kick off around 10 minutes before the end of that soccer game! Looks like I'm going to have an action-packed Sunday! :)

I agree that Novak Djokovic will beat Murray.  Murray just doesn't seem to have what it takes to get the winning post.

So far so good, the tricky part of the bet went well as Man City beat Bolton 3-2 after a pretty exciting match. The Citizens led 2-0 and 3-1 but Bolton always fought back.

Fingers crossed for Nole Djokovic now... :)

Whoops, Andy Murray has just won the first set! It ended 6-4 and now Djokovic asked for some medical help, he seems to be having problems with his right arm! Come on Nole, please...

No, no, no, no, no!!! Djokovic gave up, apparently his health problems were a lot more serious than I thought and he didn't want to risk a bad injury. I hope he will recover in time for the US Open...

I decided to go for a pure soccer bet this week, a bet that involves my beloved Arsenal. Well, they will meet Manchester United at Old Trafford tonight and given Arsenal's extremely poor start to the season I can't dare to think that they will win tonight. But I do hope they will put up a good fight and that explains the bet: I placed my money on an over/under bet, saying that there will be at least three goals scored. Maybe Arsenal won't win but at least we'll have an entertaining match :)

It's half time and my bet is already a winning one as no less than four goals were scored! I must say that I'm not too happy since Man United scored three and Arsenal just one...

Youngster Danny Welbeck broke the deadlock for the home side and then Arsenal had a great chance to level the score but Robin Van Persie missed a penalty kick. Moments later new signing Ashley Young scored a fabulous goal to double United's lead and then Wayne Rooney made it 3-0 with a pinpoint free kick shot. Arsenal reacted just before the break when Theo Walcott reduced the arrears but I'm not hoping for too much in the second half.

It was a total nightmare, Man United beat Arsenal 8-2! Unbelievable, it's probably the worst day for Arsenal in decades!

Well, I won my bet so that is a small compensation for the total humiliation that the Gunners endured at Old Trafford.

Very embarrassing result.  Glad you won your bet though Johnny.

No surprises, this week's bet is related to the ATP US Open :) It's the last Grand Slam tournament of the season and it's obvious that all eyes are on this event.

The bet is fairly simple, nothing fancy and not very risky either: I chose a combo bet on five games from the last 16 round. Here are the games that I picked:

Here we go, it's time for my attempt to turn the two-bet mini-streak into a nice three-bet winning streak :) The event that I chose is the ATP US Open because it is something that I've followed closely for almost two weeks now. The semi finals will be played today and I decided to place a combo bet including both games.

Nadal will face Murray while Djokovic will take on Federer, these were the expected semi finals between the four strongest men at the moment. The expected final is Nadal vs Djokovic and I believe that the expectations will be met and the two rivals will meet again after facing each other in the Wimbledon final a few months back. So my bet is Djokovic and Nadal for the final, here is the betting slip from Sports Interaction:

Yay! The final will be Djokovic vs Nadal, as predicted, and I have a third consecutive winning bet! Nadal had an easy game against Murray but Djokovic had a very tough battle against Federer, the match was on the edge but Nole pulled it off eventually.

This week's bet is all about soccer and that is because there will be an exciting match today in the English Premier League: Manchester United vs Chelsea!

Both teams are unbeaten since the start of the season but Man United have a 100 percent record, 4 wins out of 4, while Chelsea recorded 3 wins and a draw. Moreover, I have to say that Manchester United have really impressed me with their skills this season, especially in the unbelievable 8-2 victory against Arsenal. So my money goes on Manchester United, I believe that they will beat Chelsea today!
