Popular gambling operator, LeoVegas, has just come off two prestigious gaming award events held in London by winning a brace of titles – Global Gaming Awards' “Online Casino of the Year” and International Gaming Awards' “Mobile Operator of the Year” accolades.
Both ceremonies were held last Monday evening and served as a prelude for ICE London, iGaming industry's largest annual get-together.
Both occurrences are among the most distinguished and prominent of its kind in online gaming...
...With Global Gaming Awards celebrating, in particular, “achievements and innovations of companies from all areas within the industry.” For this particular acclaim (Online Casino of the Year), LeoVegas was chosen among nine other candidates. The jury containing industry experts chose them from the said shortlist.
The said title recognizes the continual efforts that this Sweden and Malta-based brand invests into strengthening its brand portfolio. The official press release also notes...
...that casino's efforts toward implementing responsible gaming strategies are also commended.
This event was followed by the International Gaming Awards merely hours later. Similarly, it bestows the industry's high-fliers separated into several categories. The “Mobile Casino of the Year” award identifies the casino's upgrades to their mobile website and app, as well as sportsbook and other functionality and accessibility enhancements.
LeoVegas' Group CEO, Gustaf Hagman, happy about the two recognitions, said:
"It's an honor to accept two awards related to our casino product and mobile offering in one evening. These distinguished titles really reflect the hard work and effort that everyone put in during the last year. Here's to another year of Leading the Way to the Mobile Future!"
2019 can prove to be a year of brand-new landmarks for the operator. The re-relaunch of Sweden's regulated iGaming market under a new set of rules and official watchdog, Spelinspektionen, did not go without LeoVegas joining the party.
At the beginning of December, their license application has been met with approval by the regulator, permitting them to roll out their services on January 1st.
With it, the brand introduced Swish – a mobile payment system exclusive for this Scandivanian country's market. The service's CEO, Anna-Lena Wretman, remarked that “Swish has 6.7 million users and 180,000 connected businesses in Sweden.”
Just before New Year's, Leo Vegas recruited industry veteran, Avshalom Lazar, as its new Chief Compliance and Legal Officer, set to take over his new role in April.
He will be in charge of contacting authorities and licensors and developing this area of responsibility on a daily basis.
“The gambling regulatory and compliance environment is undergoing significant changes in the last few years, posing challenges, but equally so opportunities for leading operators in the industry,” he was quoted as saying upon appointment.
