  • I think it will be 1-1 after the first day, and the 5th match will decide the winner I think. Perhaps the Czech team has bigger chances.

Very good predictions for today's matches.Easy win for Sharapova against Pliskova. In the first match of the day Pavlyuchnekova is very good entered the match but after the first set, Kvitova dropped into turbo speed and completely lost only two games.

Realistically that will be decided by the doubles match 5.

  • To be honest,I expected to see comeback from Kvitova. She is too good to loose so easily.I also think that Czech girls will celebrate in the end.

  • The Czech team won at the end after the doubles match. It was expected I think.

  • And for me, this is the expected victory for a Czech woman.Russians could not have more than the two victories achieved by Maria.

Congratulations Czech woman to deserve winning FED CUP.

  • The Czech team won at the end after the doubles match. It was expected I think.

Yeah probably, I'm glad for the Czech girls,  think that Czech Republic  deserve it with all the top players they have at the men's and women's tours , so it couldn't be an accident.

  • Congratulations for Czech team. They deserved this win,it is really great honor to win such a traditional competition.

  • Interesting article on Top 10 Most Aces on the WTA in 2015. Surprisingly, it's not Serena with the most aces, but Pliskova.  She doesn't have the fastest serve, 119 miles (191.5 km/h), but very precise.

But what should be taken into consideration is that Serena played 16 tournaments, and Pliskova 26, which is actually the most in the Top 15.

    10] Garbiñe Muguruza - 234

    9] Venus Williams - 235

    8] CoCo Vandeweghe - 260

    7] Sabine Lisicki - 262

    6] Lucie Safarova - 267

    5] Kristina Mladenovic - 270

    4] Samantha Stosur - 282

    3] Madison Keys - 328

    2] Serena Williams - 498

    1] Karolina Pliskova - 517

  • Pliskova is very very good server.Shes problem is defence and when she correct that will be excellent player.

  • But what should be taken into consideration is that Serena played 16 tournaments, and Pliskova 26, which is actually the most in the Top 15.

Exactly, if we'd count aces per match I guess Serena would be leading by far.

Yes for sure Johnny, but I'm impressed by the Pliskova stats even if she played a lot more matches it's a huge achievement that she has more aces than Serena  :-bd

Probably Venus Williams will win in that category although I saw the match of Bethanie Mattek-Sands against Serena at US Open and she was just great for set and a half outplayed her. She has really great volleys and not afraid to play at the net which is so rarely not only in the women's tennis nowadays but in men's too.

  • Mattek is crazy in shes head otherwise it could be dangerous to the little calmer.Quite cope better in doubles and has a Grand Slam title (Roland Garros 2015 and Australian open 2015).

  • I thing that Williams will win the prize. She made a comeback and immediately started to player on very decent level.

  • I think that Venus deserves to win, battling with her health issues, being 35 and back to top 10. Quite incredible.

  • The most realistic would be to Venus receives award Because play great tennis like she used to.Excellent are back Mattek and Sevastova but I preferred giving Venus.

Yes for sure Venus is a favourite to win it, she was just great this season after the absence and would be deserved to be awarded for that.

  • I agree with You guys. Vens Williams deserves this title. She's part of WTA's history and I think the next year will be the last for her in the WTA circus.

  • It will definitely be her last, but I still think that she still has something to offer to tennis. We can expect good performances,at least at Wimbledon.

  • And how about the WTA Rising Star Of The Year?

    The finalists are:

    Margarita Gasparyan

    Daria Gavrilova

    Nao Hibino

    Daria Kasatkina

For me, the obvious choice would be Gavrilova. The first part of the season was very good for her, she had some great wins.

  • For me Kasatkina is the best in this competition. She has won 5 tournaments and she played 3rd round of US open.Other players from the list was very good this year but my favorite is Daria Kasatkina.

For me, the obvious choice would be Gavrilova. The first part of the season was very good for her, she had some great wins.

The only name that I ever heard of is Gavrilova, in fact saw one or two of her matches and she was very impressive, can't say anything about the others though. Use to watch a lot more tennis before.. :-pp

  • Gavrilova is a big favorite for the title. She step up this year, and even made some wins against respectable opponents.

  • I don't know much about Nao Hibino, but others I saw them playing. Yes, Kasatkina is very good too.

Gasparyan has a beautiful one-handed backhand.

  • Kasatkina play so much ofensive , and thats could be problem. But she is so young and can improve shes game of course.

  • Aga Radwanska news :

Rubbish Party most of the year, but the furious finish with the title in Tokyo, Tianjin and Singapore were enough for 5th place in the WTA rankings at the end of the year for Agnieszka Radwanska. For the third time in the last 4 years old Polish woman ends the year in the Top 5. As a reward for the results of the sponsors of the Lexus received the car.

And a Polish portal also announced that at the emotional level goes better and better. According to them Agnieszka has not only respect, but also engaged and the wedding is reportedly scheduled for 2017 and should take place in Krakow. Apparently her chosen one, David Celt, bivči tennis player who is currently a member of the expert team Radwanska and often with her traveling to tournaments.

  • Simona Halep no 2 WTA, was not included in the best 10 players of the year. I hope  this challange ambition.

  • Good luck to Aga. Nice news from her.

Simona Halep no 2 WTA, was not included in the best 10 players of the year. I hope  this challange ambition.

Kind of strange that she wasn't included in the top 10 this year. But i guess that people expected so much more from her in 2015, and unfortunately she didn't live up to the expectations. Yes, I hope she will show much more next year.

  • She is still young and she can improve a lot.Expectations are high, pressure is big,and it is not easy to handle all that ,especially when you are still young.

Quite strange for me too but I guess there wasn't some  bright moments in her season and that could be one of the reasons for this decision. Hopefully she'll be a lot better better the upcoming season and by that I mean at least one Grand Slam title !!

  • Serena won  Sports Illustrated's 2015

    award. Congrats.
  • Serena won  Sports Illustrated's 2015

    award. Congrats.

Not surprisingly really, I've had  never been her fan but probably a deserved reward.

  •

    Davis L. (Usa)  l  2.10

    Bertens K. (Ned)  l 1.66

    Flipkens K. (Bel)  l  1.28

    Martincova T. (Cze)  l  3.50

    Nara K. (Jpn)  l  1.53

    Paszek T. (Aut)  l  2.37

Those qualification matches seem pretty interesting to me. Will probably try to combine with a small bet.

  • Good luck ChokeDee, hopefully it will end well for you.

  • Thanks Mark but it didn't. :)

Martincova and Davis had a lead in the first set but failed to close out to set. But at least Paszek won though. But I only lost 3 € from them which is acceptable.

  • There are interesting matches tomorrow.

If you have some money to waste, you might wanna bet against Serena tomorrow at Hopman Cup. It's like an exhibition match there. And Serena never really care much about those matches and she lost a lot when it comes to matches which don't count.

    It's 5.50 against her. I won't do it because I am her fan.  ;D

    Seems good to me.

  • Both Venus, and Ana Ivanovic are out. She showed a mental strength of a 15yo who stepped on a tennis court for the first time in her life.

What got me mad was that I saw the odds from Ana, Venus matches and another one with a Chinese playing. The odds were all over 4 and my radar was moving badly but I just thought well they seem ready to have a good season start and when I woke up I saw the results and I was mad mad mad that I didn't bet.

Yes, I understand you. When i decide to bet, it's very difficult at the beginning of a season for me, because I also expect top players to be ready. Now I've just seen that Bencic lost to a qualifier Crawford.

  • Luckily I sticked around Live Betting during WTA matches last night and made some profit from 2€ deposit. :) Withdrew 28€ before I went to bed.

And Muguruza also retired from the match. This year might be another mess from the WTA side again, WHICH is bad for tennis but actually good for someone like me who loves to bet for the underdogs.

  • Congrats ChokeDee, winning before bed is just like taking a sleeping pill. :)

I would expect nothing less from ladies. :)

It's always a great feeling to win on a last bet for the day mate :-bd Congrats for that one :)

Thanks :) It does feel great to win from the last hope. Yesterday I went to ZERO but my last pending bet helped me to get back to 12€. :)

  • Azarenka played really well this week. Even Kerber didn't have any chances in the final. Curious what will happen at the AO.

  • Azarenka played really well this week. Even Kerber didn't have any chances in the final. Curious what will happen at the AO.

Yes agree Markotik, great performance by Azarenka but I think it was kind of expected for her to step up this season after the injury and not the greatest form in the end of last year, hopefully she will continue to improve and will be real competitor to Serena Williams this season.

  • Talking about Serena. We all have no clue how is she doing. I would be really surprised if she could make it to the finals. I mean that would be awesome and I wish! But I don't have a good feeling about her this year. Hope I am wrong...totally wrong.

  • Yes, we don't know much about Serena. She's probably rusty, but I think if she gets through the first couple of rounds it will be tough to stop her.

  • Once again Martina Hingis and Sania Mirza have shown that they are the best WTA double team in the world. The team won the title today in Sydney after a dramatic comeback against french team Garcia/Mladenovic. The score was 1-6 2-5 and the match finished 1-6 7-5 10-5. Really the best team ever.

  • Hingis and Mirza are great double tram indeed. Wonder who is going to stop them first.

Cornet easily beat Bouchard to win the Hobart title 61 62.

And Kuznetsova, surprisingly, won the Sydney title. Well, beating Puig wasn't too much of a surprise but beating Halep was, at least for me.

  • I threw some small bets on these matches tonight.

    Petra Kvitova - Luksika Kumkhum @ 7.6

    Eugenie Bouchard - Aleksandra Krunic @ 7.6

    Noah Rubin - Benoît Paire @ 9.2

I might lose it all but whatever. Just 3€ each match. No risk no fun. :) Wish much luck!

And I think there should surely be any upset already tonight.
