I agree with you... Croatia seems to be playing well, but I can't see them beating Spain, and Italy will beat Ireland.

Yep, Spain and Italy won, as expected. It wasn't as easy as expected for neither of the two though.

I bet Ireland to win with my heart and Spain to win with my brain... so for today my score is:

England play today against Ukraine and Sweden play France.

I'm going to say England but again, I won't be holding my breath.  As for Sweden France match, I will pick France to win and Sweden for all the gorgeous men.

England should win but it won't be easy.

France will beat Sweden as Ibrahimovic and company are already out of the tournament.

Tough calls definately not just by national preferences.. these men will be playing at their best ..Not only is it the last day fro this round , but also last group with a tight standing. might i also point out France has conceded but one goal against.

I'm going to pick England and Sweden, I hope they win their matches. It will be tough, especially for Sweden.

Great win for Sweden, fantastic goal from Ibrahimovic - but unfortunately for Sweden a bit late.

England got away i think this time, should have been 1-1, man that referee will not sleep good tonight i think.

England were scrappy (without the "s" at the front of that word).  It should have been a draw and I agree, Ukraine were definitely the better team.  I don't rate England's chances to get past the next round.

I really enjoyed Sweden - France match but Sweden won relatively comfortably and I've never thought that could happen. I'm so glad they fought until the end. I think that Franch players didn't really take this match seriously enough. They will face Spain now and it can't get much tougher than that.

The first quarter final is today:

I'd say Portugal will win it, mostly because they have Cristiano Ronaldo in good shape.

I am betting on Portugal also! This one is with my BRAIN, so I am hoping I can tie the score between my BRAIN and my HEART on this match!

Everybody expects Germany to win and I think they will. But I do hope they won't even though I can't exactly picture how that would possibly happen.

I doubt Greece can repeat 2004. Some of their key players have been suspended and lets be honest here, Germany has one hell of a team.

Germany won it 4-2 but the Greeks did put up a brave fight. Germany were just too good, and now they will meet either England or Italy in the semi finals.

I was on the fence with this one... but HEART nudged me over to Spain! I won on who would win the match and by a margin of 2!

It's the last quarter final and I think this one will go down to the penalty shoot out. And I can't predict the outcome of the penalty shoot-out, that's a lottery.

I hope that England will pull through  because they deserve a re-match against Germany after the defeat at the 2010 World Cup.

I also think that England will go through to the semis and I would like to watch that possible match against Germany.

Well on this one HEART and BRAIN agreed, England to win. But, I could not say when in the match so I bet like this:

Who will win the match?  England in overtime 

Who will win the match?  England in penalty shootout 

Who will win the match?  England straight win 

By what margin will the winning team win?  England by 1 

With the biggest bet on England straight win.

The Italians were better in the first half but there are (at least) 45 more minutes.

England is way to defensive.... I hope they get to the penalty shootout. 

Italy won it after the penalty shoot-out and they deserved it to be honest. England had a negative strategy and they paid the price.

In my view Roy Hodgson is one of the most overrated managers in English football.

England played poorly in my opinion and the end result of losing on the penalty shootout is so typical and I totally expected the result that Italy would win.

Gutted but not surprised.

I'm inclined to agree with you Johnny.

I don't get why Redknapp didn't take the job.  He should have and perhaps it could have been a very different result with him in the driving seat.

Yeah, I would have picked Harry Redknapp over Roy Hodgson any day, I don't know why the FA thought otherwise. They can get Redknapp now though since his contract at Tottenham was terminated.

Hmmm... yes, Italy deserved to go through to the semis at the end. England messed it up big time; they got very nervous in the last half an hour of the match. I really thought that England would pull it off.

Bookmakers give Germany more chances to win against Italy rather than Spain to win against Portugal. But the two favorites can fail in semifinals just like at this year`s Champions League. I hope it will be unpredictable.

I think Germany will win but it would be nice to see Italy whoop their butts.
