  • Wow lips, that is really beautiful..I used to grow those I love em.

Just like a giant sunshine..."You are my sunshine, my only sunshine..." wink

  • Nal,

Lmaooooo i love your new profile pic!

It's funny you should mention "you are my sunshine". When i was really little (4-5 yrs old) my dad would sit me on his lap and sing that to me....and i would cry and cry every time he sang that song. He could never understand why there was the instant tears.

As i got older...i didnt cry anymore...he would remind often how i would! Now as life would have it....i cry again...and to be honest i can't listen to the song since he passed away.

My friend had that song on a CD from the movie "Brother how art thou" (i think thats the name with George Clooney) it came on while we were in the car....and the tears flowed. I guess sometimes we leave off right where we began.

    You crack me up......too cute!

    Lips

  • I know..the song still makes me cry too.

and I think its Brother Where Art thou?  It's one of my favorite movies..

I am a ARA (animal rights activist) and many of my babies are rescues and will have a forever home with me. The little girl in my avatar was a tiny abused/neglected minature pony--if look close--looks like she has on shoes--actually she had to have new feet made for her so she could walk again. She has a kind/loving home now--she's one of the lucky ones.

  • Moon,

Thank God for people like you. Thank you for sharing such an emotional story. That little pony is sweet as sweet can be.

Thanks for sharing all the photos....your an inspiration!

    Lips
  • WOW moon, that is great!!! They are all beautiful..  hey I gotta question for u, do ur lamma's spit at u?? lol
  • He has threatened but has never spit at me! He pretty much hates everybody except LiL Jack the donkey and he has spit on every horse & about half my dogs--LOL--His name is Duke and he's the best "guard" animal I've ever had, he won't let any stray dog in my pasture and if he thinks the horses are playing to rough with Jack, he will stop them. Duke & LiL Jack are both rescues and have been together since Jack was born, I guess that's why he's so protective of him.

  • Awwww maybe that's the kind of "guard" animal I need.  wink
  • This is my cutie!  kiss kiss kiss kiss kiss His 8th birthday's in 5 days!

    Day 983 of my captivity...
My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while the other inmates and I are fed hash or some sort of dry nuggets.
Although I make my contempt for the rations perfectly clear, I nevertheless must eat something in order to keep up my strength.

The only thing that keeps me going is my dream of escape. In an attempt to disgust them, I once again vomit on the carpet.

Today I decapitated a mouse and dropped its headless body at their feet. I had hoped this would strike fear into their hearts, since it clearly demonstrates what I am capable of. However, they merely made condescending comments about what a 'good little hunter' I am. Bastards..

There was some sort of assembly of their accomplices tonight. I was placed in solitary confinement for the duration of the event. However, I could hear the noises and smell the food. I overheard that my confinement was due to the power of 'allergies.' I must learn what this means and how to use it to my advantage.
Today I was almost successful in an attempt to assassinate one of my tormentors by weaving around his feet as he was walking.. I must try this again tomorrow -- but at the top of the stairs.

I am convinced that the other prisoners here are flunkies and snitches. The dog receives special privileges. He is regularly released - and seems to be more than willing to return. He is obviously retarded.

The bird has got to be an informant. I observe him communicating with the guards regularly. I am certain that he reports my every move. My captors have arranged protective custody for him in an elevated cell, so he is safe.

    For now... The cat.

  • Autumn Grace cheesy:D:D:D

  • Thanks,Pam and yes they are sort of old picture...I had to clean up my hard drive the other day  and still working on adding all the current pictures back. They are now big as cows. wink but I recently adopted one kitten from animal shelter and her name is hazelnut. I will post their new pictures soon.

  • I almost started a new topic about pets, when I browsed through some old ones and found this one. I'm sure there are many pet lovers here, and I for one am one of them!

Now, here's my Cu (Tzu), while he's begging to get some food...

  • Very cute CatFace.  He looks adorable.

  • Hiya Catface!!

Ya know i love that dog of yours! And i know you are a dog lover! You took this baby in from off the streets and i love you for that!

Look at that precious face, it is like he is saying thank you so much for taking care of me!

    Lips
  • Awww Catface...he is so darling.

How old and big is he? from the look of it, he is not more than two but what do I know...heh!

    I love him already!

I have three cats and they are my babies...(pooky,oreo and hazel!)

  • Mookie, my super chill cat.  His baby picture:  still had two eyes.  His older picture: one eye, after a car hit him...knocked out his left eye, broke his pelvis, fractured his mandible and skull.  He's currently 9 y.o.

When he was younger his eyes were blue.  Now they're yellow-green.  I never knew cats eyes could change colors.  This is my first cat.

  • Del, the sweetest dog ever.  She died last year from kidney failure, diabetic complications.  She was 12 y.o.

  • Catface.. the picture is missing from the post i can't see him.. and im dying to ..  sad

Ishin Del is adorable, Mookie, what a story to tell, i love the gray colored kitties! I just want to hold him and pet him!!

    Fantastic pictures!

  • Meet "Toby" My roommate brought this little guy home after a fare (He's a cabdriver) mentioned him and that they couldn't keep him. 3 years old (We suspect he's been abused) you pick up a stick, he gives you that "Oh, I'm not liking what you're doing" look.

He loves to play tug of war and then after you let him win, he thrashes the sock on the floor. He really has taken to my roomie and seems to tolerate me well (As long as I play tug of war with him 5-7 times each eveing)

He's waiting for me to bring back the sock for more games..Getting this pic took awhile, he doesn't sit still for long!

  • Oh he's so cuuuttee genenco, you know what kind of dog he is.. haha @ having to play tug-a-war constantly!!!

  • Hey guys, thanks for all the kind words. Our Cu is now about 2 years old, and he's still hyper-active. However, his life until we adopted him was a pretty sad story. We found him one day tied up to a trash bin with a phone cable, with one of his paws badly injured. We released him and fed him, and he became a favorite of everyone in the neighborhood. Then the winter came, and we started letting him into the building to warm up, but we often let him sleep over in our warm flat, as well. Then one day we couldn't find him, he probably wandered away somewhere.

We were so sad that he was missing (we waited for him to get back for a couple of months, and looked around for him, but in vain), that we started looking on some web pet forums to adopt a dog. And, by some strange chance, we ran into our Cu! There he was, looking at us from our laptop screen, asking to be adopted! But the story doesn't have a happy ending there...

When we called to ask if we could adopt him, they told us that he was sick. He had a highly deadly disease that mostly gets to puppies, and the vets told us that he's got only about 15% chance to survive. In fact, they wanted to put him to sleep, but the girl who had him until we ran into him on the site, didn't let them to. And, miraculously, a few weeks later, he's as good as new!

Then we took him in, and now he's quite a spoiled fatty. What's amazing about him is that he never stopped loving people, not even after they beat him up and tied him to a trash bin. He loves people more than dogs, I can assure you. And he's been the biggest joy in our lives ever since!

  • That's an incredible story CatFace.  Thank so much for sharing it and thank goodness for people like you.

@genenco - what a little cutie he is. He looks like a little puppy still.  So sweet and another act of kindness.  How many animals on this earth would be dead if it wasn't for people like you.

@ishin - gorgeous pics of your cat and dog.  So sorry you lost your dog - it's very sad especially when they are part of your family.

  • Okay, I'm lacking a camera, but here's my story about Kenny Kinkitty.  He moved his g/f in - I call her mama kitty.  She had 5 kittens, I think they are all boys!
Kenny is white and orange, and showed up whining at my door when he was very little.  I had just begun moving in.  We shared my first meal-he really liked it but was so scared. It was Chicken Voila.
The baby kittens are pretty wild but will come near me when it's feeding time.  They look mostly like Mama Kitty and are all named Baby Kitty for now.  Mama Kitty is grey with stripes on the sides and spots on the bottom.
Two of the babies have "Joy" on their side (or maybe "Toy") in their stripes.  They've all got spotty undersides and orangish blonde ears.

I just went out to feed the family, and all the kitties and mama came running up.  As I put the food out, here comes Kenny, with a HUGE mouse, freshly caught.  He comes straight to me and as I scramble to get outta the way he lets it go!  I yelled and ran for the house.  Of course, he got it again.  He played with letting it go and re-catching it for awhile.  I watched to see if the kitties would show an interest.  One did come over and try to grab it then sat there watching Kenny.  When he started eating it I quit watching.

Kenny has always been a good country cat, but never brought me a present like that before.  He's sweet to his girlfriends, too, giving kisses and bringing them over to eat.  He got his Kinkitty last name because my last name is Kinman, Jake's is Kinser, and so he's Kinkitty...
Well, that's all.  Just had to write about the mouse incident to get the adrenaline outta my system!

  • Hiya Chilly,

My dog did the same thing when she was a puppy. Came waltzing over to me proudly with a field mouse she found in the yard. I think they do that to show off and be praised.

I jumped about ten feet when that happened!!
