  • you watch this one yet wnanhee??

    http://phimtogo.com/movies/watch/35403_Chaos/1/

  • I've seen it through Netflix a while ago.

I saw one of the best foreign films and this one is A MUST SEE!!!

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1305806/

    Amazing!

  • ah am trying to learn spanish. and seems like a good movie, will check that one out one of these days. International name is "The Secret in Their Eyes" btw.

    I saw Due Date yesterday.
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1231583/
High-strung father-to-be Peter Highman is forced to hitch a ride with aspiring actor Ethan Tremblay on a road trip in order to make it to his child's birth on time.
    Great road trip movie smiley
Gets a lot of horrible reviews though, but hey people gave inception amazing reviews lol. Well guess this road trip movie is for the ones who have their own opinion instead of being part of the sheeple herd.

  • Oh and did someone see "The Fountain" by any chance?
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0414993/
Great movie, especially for the girls/women here I think.

  • I saw "The Fountain."  It was pretty good (and I can be kind of a movie snob, I admit lol).

I'm in the middle (Old Boy) of the Vengeance Trilogy right now.  The first part, Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance, was awesome--not a dull moment, and one of my favorite foreign films.  It's violent, but we're all mature adults here, right?

Which reminds me:  I watched Braindead - Dead Alive yesterday.  It's directed by Peter Jackson and it's the goriest movie I've ever seen.  It has a goofball comedy feel, though, so it's not like it's really off-putting, imo.

I was just talking about it this morning in another thread...

    [quote author=gabby link=topic=16027.msg154466#msg154466 date=1298697620]

I think we can all be drawn to extreme violence.  I wouldn't hesitate for a split second to saw someone in half if they were going to harm one of my children. Or... poke them in the eye with a screw driver and twist it, set them on fire, shoot them in the leg, groin, shoulder (lots of places to make them suffer) before the kill shot.

Can ya tell I watch a lot of crime shows?

I used to read and watch true crime books and shows but I stopped...
I started seeing everyone as criminals and having nightmares.
    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0451094/
This is exactly what I would do if anyone ever tries to hurt my children...
If you had your child and life stolen from you, then you can only imagine what you would do face-to-face with the murderer.
It is one of revenge trilogy (preceded by Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and Oldboy)...
    What a well made film.

My favorite one is Lady Vengeance-kind heart Gum-ja...
A story told by Gumja's daughter as looking back...about why, what and how about her mother!
  • casino movie,  not sure if it is a good movie or not cuz I'm watching it now

Finally watched it and what a strange movie!
I think I understand the concept of the story but it was somewhat disturbing and confusing.

The film is quite sad and disturbing, I agree. But Natalie Portman was absolutely exceptional, she deserved the Oscar for this role.

The Bodyguard, Dirty Dancing, Gone withe the wind, Ghost
    Need a good cry-
Imitation of Life, Green Mile, Castaway.

    is this the movie liqourman?

  •             An obscure movie we saw earlier this year,  3 Idiots.  Excellent story,  great soundtrack,  highly recommend it.

  • Paranormal Activity freaked me out. I know it's not real but it's still scary. I've seen 1 and 2 and I will soon see 3. Thanks for the heads up liquorman.

  • I loved paranormal activity 1 and 2. So scary!

  • Paranormal Activity didn't scare me in the least.

My daugher is scared out of her wits at scary movies (covers her eyes and ears at most scary commercials) and even she didn't think it was scary.

Well aren't you two the lucky ones  wink

After reading my post again, it sounded....I dunno...wrong somehow.
Plenty scares me and even though the movie didn't scare me at all in the theater, if I were to watch it at home, alone, in the dark, you can be sure my back would not be against any window and I would have to be facing the front door. smiley

Hiya Lips.. nice to see you too!
  • No no no! I meant that in the most sincere way. You two are so lucky that it didn't get to you. I get ridiculously scared when I watch horror. Don't know why I put myself through it. I will not watch the Exorcist. No way! Do you and your daughter find that one scary at all gabby? hysterical

  • Whew.. thanks froggy.  I thought I came across as rude.

The Exorcist kept my mom up for months.  Was the scariest movie ever for her.  Didn't scare me or my daughter.
Carrie scared me growing up but it didn't scare my kids, probably because of its age.

The Strangers scared my daughter... a lot!
She walked by one day while I was watching The Sixth Sense, she freaked and wouldn't sleep.  I made her sit with me and watch it so the only vision she saw would go out of her head.  (It was when the boy was tinkling and the dead person walked behind him.)

  • I saw Insidious and that scared the crap out of me. Have you seen it? So many scary ones.

Children of the Corn used to scare me too  laugh_out_loud Is he weird or what?

  • I heard that The Human Centipede is suppose to be really really bad. A friend told me that she heard what it was about and nearly got sick. I said please don't even tell me i don't want the images in my head!

    Has anyone seen it.

Oh btw The Exorcist has to be the one of the movies that freaked me out and i was quite young when i saw it. Til this day i can't watch a movie about any possession.

  • I like to watch scary movies, hehe
I watched Resident Evil over and over again and never get bored of it.

    thanks froggy,
    I check insidious out
    thanks gabby,
    I'll find stranger to watch
    thanks lips for exorcist

  • I like all the movies of the hollywood. My special interest is in action movies & romantic movie. My favourite movie is Death Race 2, ghost protocol, kung fu pand 2. Its a movie that i want to see again and again. In this movie the all stunts are fantastic. It has good screen play and dialogue. It has great sound effect.

  • Lately, I've been into (romantic) comedies, which I never cared much about before. Mike, you sound like an expert in that field, do you have any recommendations for me?

Btw, one of the relatively new movies that I really liked was "Source Code" - it's not something you see every day!

  • Source Code was an excellent movie. I enjoyed that one a lot. I saw underworld a couple of weeks ago and I was very disappointed. It wasn't as exciting as the others and it was left open for another.

I like romantic comedies too. Only You was on TV not too long ago. Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr were great in that movie. Its an oldie but a goodie.

  • My litle bro bought me Source Code for Christmas.  What a fantasticly clever film that is.  Very different and very well made.

Has anyone seen the film "Taken"?  Liam Neeson stars; what a brilliant film that is.  Very exciting and a very clever movie.

  • I can't really decide... my Top 3 are:

"À la folie... pas du tout" (probably my favorite movie)

    "Fight Club" and

"Der Krieger und die Kaiserin" (I think I watched it at least 6 times).

  • I loved the movie Taken too blue. I've seen Fight Club but I'm unfamiliar with the others you listed Mark. Fight Club was a pretty good movie.

  • Yeah, Chuck Palahniuk is my favorite writer and of course the book is better cheesy but I still liked the movie very much.

And other two are from my phase when I insisted on watching only European movies. cheesy And these two stuck in my head.

  • I have to agree that the Fight Club book is better than the movie. Personally, it just didn't do much for me, I guess I just wasn't in the right mood when I watched it, and I've been planing to give it another shot for a while now. It's actually good you reminded me of it, I'm gonna go find it somewhere online and watch it tomorrow! cheesy

Oh, speaking about European movies, I remember watching a great German comedy last year - it was absolutely hilarious, but I just can't remember its name.  shocked I have to go look it up online, will let you know when I find it, 'cause I warmly recommend it!
