Back Playtech Launches iOS-compatible Products to Assist Operators Complying with Upcoming App Store Guidelines by 3rd September

Since Apple decided to impose stricter rules for App Store regarding gambling and the apps which will (or won’t) be allowed in their store, numerous operators faced loads of issues. The deadline has almost arrived and those who don’t comply will be removed on September 3rd.

Playtech, one of the leading brands in the crowded iGaming business came up with quite a smart solution to assist the operators and help them remain active on that platform. Their wild card is the iOS-friendly native casino app.

Saving the Day

The company has been offering customers an in-house casino app for 3 years…

… but has seen a sharp increase in interest in native products since the change in guidelines was announced in June. The native-first product line includes a selection of fully native gaming content and natively compiled games.

The smart solution allows customers to easily build native apps that are iOS compatible using a Software Development Kit (SDK) without the cost and risk of extensive investment in additional software developers. What’s even more, the app includes all the back-end functionality usually offered to operators including integration with Playtech’s Engagement 360 platform, compatibility with third-party gamification tools and the BetBuddy Responsible Gambling platform.

Commenting on the events, Peter Mares, CTO of Playtech Games Innovation Labs, said as follows:

“These changes have created yet another Apple-shaped hoop for operators to jump through. Luckily, we have been in the game for a very long time and understand that in order to succeed, we need to provide a solution that is guaranteed to help our licensees continue operating as usual. To this end, we’re pleased to be able to support our customers in their preparation with a core, native-first product line, including a selection of fully native gaming content and natively compiled games.”

Keep on Updating (and Tightening) the Rules

Apple’s decision to update clause 4.7 in its guidelines

…to specifically include real money gambling, lottery, charitable donation, and digital commerce apps, has forced large numbers of operators to update their content to be iOS native, or risk getting removed from the App Store in just less than a month.

Continuing with the revision of the rules…

…the company published Apple Card Customer Agreement which sees the upcoming card banned for cryptocurrency and gambling transactions.

Unstoppable Expansion

The most engaged solution producer announced its entrance to Portugal as it tied the knot with online gambling hub, CasinoSolverde.pt. Under the terms of the agreement, the operator will gain access to Playtech's IMS player management platform.

The list of their partners also includes cooperation with SlotsMillion. The content distributor already collaborates with more than 90 developers, which makes their selection of games highly diverse.
