Back Wazdan: New Gamification Tool, Promotions and Online Slots

Popular iGaming provider Wazdan revealed exciting additions to its product line. These include new mechanics Chance Level™ and Cash Out, plus the Mystery Drop™ promo tool. Market expansion is also a priority with the company having expanded into North America in recent years. It’s been a while, but stay with us as we check in with the team for the first time since 2017. Read on to find out why customization could be the key to success in the future of online gambling!

  1. We last caught up with your team in 2017. What’s changed at Wazdan in the last few years?

The past few years have been particularly exciting for Wazdan commercially and in our product development, which has seen us cement our position in the market as a prominent global provider of games.

Kickstarting 2018 with the introduction of our flagship feature Volatility Levels™ helped us win startup of the year at the MIGEA Awards, a major achievement in the Wazdan timeline. By 2019 we were live in four markets and obtained our ONJN License, as well as winning a further two awards at the MIGEA Awards.

The following three years saw Wazdan secure its ISO/IEC certification and HGC licence respectively, helping us launch into a plethora of new markets, including three newly regulated US states and the Canadian province of Ontario. We also launched some of our most innovative features to date, such as our promo tool Cash Drop, Hold the Jackpot™, Collect to Infinity™ and Cash Infinity™.

This year we’ve continued to grow our slot offering and launched new mechanics such as Chance Level™ and Cash Out, as well as new promo tools like the award-winning Mystery Drop™ and Jackpot Rain™. We’ve also recently been releasing Extremely Light versions of our top-performing slots, making experiences that are more accessible to all players to reflect our new status as a worldwide provider of games.

  1. You attended the iGB L!ve summit in Amsterdam in July 2023. Can you summarise your experience and showcased products?

In such a global industry that is largely digital, industry events are always a fantastic opportunity to meet our partners and connect face-to-face whilst showcasing the new products and developments we’ve introduced over the previous year.

With diamonds being the overarching theme of our stand this year, we started the event with a glitzy cruise complete with dinner and cocktails, rounded off by a visit to a diamond factory. At the conference itself, delegates were particularly impressed by our 9 Coins™ Diamond Edition and Mighty Symbols™: Diamonds games that were available to operators via lightning-fast Instant Integration, taking less than an hour for the games to go live on their platforms. We also welcomed delegates to try their hand at our Mystery Drop™ giveaway that awarded fine spirits and Apple AirTags to participants.

iGB L!ve was another great success and we’re already looking forward to attending again next year.

  1. Please tell us more about Mystery Drop™

Mystery Drop™ is a dynamic gamification tool that was developed to add a further level of excitement to our slots in addition to in-game prizes. Appearing at random, the feature invites players to pick one out of nine Mystery Boxes with jackpot rewards or physical prizes hidden underneath each. After the player has selected their reward, all other boxes are uncovered to reveal the full set of prizes that could have been awarded.

Mystery Drop™ went down a treat with both our players and partners and added to Wazdan’s growing number of accolades including the Game Feature of the Year Award at the CasinoBeats Game Developer Awards 2023. We are utilising it in our final two network promotions of the year: HalloWIN Drop, and Xmas Drop with a prize pool of €2,500,000.

  1. In recent years, Wazdan expanded in the Canadian and U.S. markets. How have these moves impacted the business and do these markets significantly differ from others you operate in?

Unlike Europe, North America is still in its infancy and the market is less saturated with game providers. This opens a window of opportunity to showcase our engagement-building philosophy in full swing and develop a loyal player base thanks to our innovative offering.

Being live in West Virginia, New Jersey, and Michigan as well as the Canadian province of Ontario, our debut in North America marked a significant milestone for the company. Having obtained licences in several states and entering partnerships with tier-one operators such as DraftKings, Light & Wonder and RSI puts us in a prime position to gain leverage and market share in the region.

  1. We’d like to get your opinion on the future of online gambling and where you see it going.

In such a dynamic industry, we perceive innovation as being able to stay ahead of the curve by providing customisation to cater to the constantly evolving player tastes and preferences. Providing flexible experiences to players gives us a competitive edge while also allowing suppliers to differentiate themselves with diversified experiences and ways to win. Wazdan has been consistently implementing this approach since its inception, with Freedom of Choice™ being one of our core values. We truly see ourselves as trendsetters in the industry thanks to the insight we receive from the suite, and it makes us better able to predict what the battleground will be for leading providers.

Looking ahead, our focus will continue to be implementing and upgrading the technologies available to us that have proven to be most successful with both our players and operator partners, as well as harnessing new ones as demonstrated in our promo tools like Mystery Drop™ and Jackpot Rain™. Of course, it’s never easy to predict how a new product or feature will be received by the masses, but by delivering a sense of control over the experiences there is less opportunity for failure.
