Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) has received the ISO 27001 certification for development , infrastructure, network configuration and product operations in iGaming industry, all hosted on GiG Core platform. The certification was awarded to them for the second consecutive year.
Beside this certification, the company has also acquired a new accreditation for their data warehouse.
Commitment to Customers
The said data warehouse...
...is generally used to transform data into reports for customer and internal teams. This is used for informing on decisions that are critical for business.
The company officials are saying that this new certification only further demonstrates GiG's commitment to providing B2B customers with secure products that they can trust and their players can rely on.
GiG's acting CEO, Richard Brown, said of this milestone:
“The accreditation continues to prove that we are committed to protecting our customers and players information. Our teams have been working round the clock to continuously improve the robust control framework we put in place last year. This framework not only ensures the information we hold is protected, it also means we are actively detecting and ready to react to situations which could put any of our information at risk.”
Game Studio Shut Down
GiG has decided to shut down their game studio after the in-house development team released on four proprietary games in four years.
The Oslo-listed iGaming brand, these products haven't contributed much of the revenue to the business. Therefore, the gaming studio activities will be ceased. Also, GiG has decided to reduce long-term expenses and only focus on areas that are of strategic interest to it.
Says Richard Brown: “The decision to halt in-house content production is a strategic choice to facilitate full focus and resources on becoming the platform of choice for the iGaming industry. This forms part of recent strategic initiatives taken to reduce non-marketing related operating expenditure, together with our commitment to execution and bottom-line earnings.”
Spanish Entry
Gaming Innovation Group obtained the Spanish online casino and sports betting licenses by Directorate General for the Regulation of Gambling.
GiG's flasghip brand Rizk will be using both licenses in Spain to offer its content to players in this country. It is expected that the first bets should be placed soon via their platform.
At the time of the licensing, former CEO Robin Reed has said that the full suite of GiG's B2C and B2B solutions will be served through their top-performing operator Rizk. He said that the EUR 1 billion market is among the strongest growing ones in Europe.
New Zealand Online Casino Opened
SkyCity Malta Limited and Gaming Innovation Group have opened a New Zealand online casino that will operate under Maltese license.
SkyCity CEO Graeme Stephens has commented on this:
“While ultimately a regulated online gaming market in New Zealand remains the preferred solution, the site launch is another step on our journey of pursuing opportunities to grow and diversify our earnings, addressing a new, fast-growing industry which is highly complementary to our land-based activities and offering customers a multi-channel gaming experience.”
