Gambling giant, Caesars Entertainment, is celebrating their 30th anniversary of their responsible gambling efforts in a very unique style. In recognition of this honorable milestone, they are readying a donation of one million US dollars to charitable causes.

The said sum will be sent to a wide range of organizations that work in charity, not only across the US, but internationally as well. It was exactly three decades ago that Caesars established their responsible gambling standards, thus predating majority of other operators in what is a norm in today's gambling world.

Always Trailblazers

This decades-long program has trained over 4,000 individuals and employees in the ways of recognizing signs of gambling-related issues...

...and to mark this altruistic and noble cause, the sum of $1 million is going to be donated to the National Center for Responsible Gaming by the Las Vegas leviathan. This money will also go to third-party institutions in the US and worldwide, which should help further advance and reshape responsible gambling for the better, at times when it's needed more than ever.

Executive vice-president of public policy and corporate responsibility at Caesars Entertainment, Jan Jones Blackhurst, commented:

“Thirty years ago, Caesars Entertainment took the initiative to create the first responsible gaming program, serving our guests who could no longer play for fun. We were determined to provide meaningful solutions for problem and underage gaming.”

He added that ever since those beginnings...

...the band has invested, continuously, in cutting-edge research, technology and training. This was all part of a holistic program that respected the privacy of guests who needed their help. He stressed out that responsible gaming is the concern of all Caesars' team members and is a vital part to how they operate s business.

Milestone Moments

In these 30 years, there have been numerous landmark moments that Caesars is proud to make part of their collective remembrance and memory.

For starters, there was the Project 21 implementation. This was an early educational program that was used to detect underage gambling symptoms, as well as to monitor selling of alcohol to minors.

Further down the line, in 1995, AT&T and the National Council on Problem Gambling collaborated with Caesars on founding the first ever toll-free helpline that was available across the entire nation. It was made for gamblers in need of help. This also marks the first stages of debut of then revolutionary self-exclusion scheme, which occurred in 1999.

Setting an Example For the Industry

Speaking during the celebratory ceremony, 8th Judicial District Court in Las Vegas Judge, Cheryl Moss, said that she is always impressed by Caesars Entertainment's work on promoting responsible gambling not only to customers but also to the entire industry.

She remarked that what sets them apart from competitors is their influential ambassador training program.

“As the judge who presides over the only active gambling court in the United States, I need partners like Caesars Entertainment who have an unparalleled track record of supporting the communities in which they operate, and are committed to leading the industry as gaming offerings expand across the country,” concluded Moss.

How It's Done Today

Not shying away from this tradition...

...today's Caesars' employees are being trained in responsible gambling as early as 30 days into their contract with the company. Over 270,000 hours of training in responsible gambling was spent by US teams of this major operator in the past five years alone.

New Jersey's executive director of the council on compulsive gambling, Neva Pryor, has called Caesars Entertainment “the most committed and community-minded gaming partner in the state of New Jersey.

“They are an ally who understands the challenges of reaching problem gamblers and proactively seeks new ways to implement change within our communities and the gaming industry. It is their continued partnership that helps ensure we can offer problem gambling education, treatment and hope to those in need.”
