Indiana is the fifth US state in which two big names on the gaming scene, Caesars Entertainment and Scientific Games, will cooperate. This expansion of the brands' partnership comes soon after legal sports wagering took off in this state.
It is exactly this vertical that is the cornerstone of their latest collaboration, as six Caesars venues will launch a sportsbook in September, after their retail sportsbook made its debut at Indiana Grand Racing and Casino, Shelbyville.
OpenSports Widens its Reach

...makes use of Scientific Games' OpenSports suite of products – the main “power source” of this property's sportsbook. During the current month, the cooperation between the two parties will see more sportsbooks opened at Horseshoe Hammond, Harrah's Hoosier Park Racing and Casino and Horseshoe Southern Indiana Hotel and Casino.
Moreover, track betting venues in Indianapolis, Clarksville and New Haven will also gain OpenSports product.
Big Words
Caesars Entertainment's executive vice president of gaming and interactive entertainment, Christian Stuart, said:
“We’ve had incredibly successful sportsbook launches, and Indiana is continuing that trend. We look forward to seeing OpenSports further engage our players with the sleek user experience and high transaction volume we’ve come to expect from OpenSports.”
SG Digital's group chief executive, Jordan Levin, added:
“We’re thrilled to expand our partnership with Caesars in the US. OpenSports is a great platform that’s shown rock solid performance, putting players at the heart of the betting experience. With Scientific Games’ powerful retail solution and mobile sports product, we’ll continue to take bold steps when it comes to the player experience.”
More States to Conquer
Prior to Indiana, the two companies cooperated on sportsbook products in Iowa, Mississippi, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. This type of partnership will expand even further later this year when Illinois and North Carolina legalize their markets.
Indiana's sports betting bill allows mobile sports wagering, which Scientific will also bring to Caesars' venues. By late 2019, mobile wagering should also be a go in Pennsylvania and Iowa.
SG's New Jersey Push
Online presence in New Jersey has become all the more noticeable with the deal that launched Big Time Gaming content to Golden Nugget online casino. This company is one of SG's best-performing partners in the UK and Europe.
Their CEO, Nik Robinson, said:
“Our content and Scientific Games’ platform make for a perfect New Jersey offering. The U.S. digital gaming market is gaining traction, and we’re excited to provide Golden Nugget’s players with our growing library of innovative titles.”
At this year's EGR B2B event held on June 25th in London, SG received the Platform of the Year award.
The brand's Open Gaming System and Open Platform System offer a selection of gaming titles, an account management device and streamlines player tool.

It's always nice to be reminded how many more states need to open their sports betting markets.
