Culiacan, largest and capital city of the Mexican state Sinaloa, has a population of about 675,000, and can be found at the confluence of the rivers Tamazula and Humaya. There’s lots of attractions in and around the city, serving most interests. There’s parks, stadiums, beaches, religious sites, malls for shopping, and of course, the casino. Don't forget to try Mexican cuisine Sinaloan style. If you're travelling with family, try the water park Splash Club or the zoo in the Constitución Civic Center. Just outside the city, about 30 minutes away, be sure to check out the Imala hot springs as well as Atlata Beach. There’s also Isla Cortes.

Gaming

After long days visiting all the museums, beaches and various other attractions, head on inside and try out a few slots. The casino offers both classic and video slots in various denominations as well as electronic bingo terminals. If you prefer the horses and catching some international sporting events, head over to the sportsbook and root on your favourites.

Hotel/Accommodations

There are no hotels on site. About 0.8 km from the casino you can find the Hotel Lucerna Culiacan. The hotel offers 142 rooms and suites coming in singles, doubles, junior suites, master suites and Lucerna Club. Restaurants on site include the Mezzasole Restaurant and the La Terraza. Other facilities include the El Potrio Lobby Bar, a business centre, meeting rooms, a swimming pool, a fitness centre and gift shop. Free wireless internet is available as is 24 hour room service. The hotel can also arrange car rentals.

Dining

For authentic Mexican cuisine, try La Mariposa Amarilla (the yellow butterfly) with its distinct Sinaloan touch. For seafood, there’s Los Arcos and El Farallon, with menu items like octopus, shrimp and scallops. When looking for classic Italian fare, try Italianni’s. Chinese cuisine is dished up in Huy Fong, as well as China-loa, the latter having buffets. For more options, ask casino staff for recommendations, or take your meals back at the hotel in one of their 2 restaurants.

Attractions/NightLife

After dark, head to one of the local clubs for drinks and dancing, like O Lydia Discotheque or Penthouse Klub. Kuwa also has live music. During days, explore some of the local culture and history in the Centro Cultural Genaro Estrada or the Regional History Museum. For religious sites, try the Templo de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe. Sports fans can check out the local stadiums Estadio Angel Flores and Estadio Banorte. For shopping there’s the Forum Culiacan Mall (largest in the city), Plaza Galeria San Miguel, Plaza Fiesta and Plaza la Campina. Learn something new in the Centro de Ciencias de Sinaloa (the Sinaloa Science Centre) and check out the flora in the Botanical Garden. Bring the kids and try the longest water slide in northern Mexico at Ernesto Millan Escalante Park. The Constitucion Civic Centre has a zoo, library and dancing fountains.
