Culiacan is the largest city in the Mexican state of Sinaloa, with around 675,000 people, and is located in north western Mexico in a valley where the rivers Tamazula and Humaya meet. If you’re keen on checking out the beaches in the area, try Isla Cortes or Altata Beach, where you can also find bars, clubs and restaurants. If you don’t mind the drive outside the city, check out the Imala hot springs, about 30 minutes away. Local highlights include the Regional History Museum, the Botanical Garden and Centro de Ciencias de Sinaloa, a science museum, home to the 5th largest meteorite on Earth.

Gaming

The casino offers a selection of classic and video slot machines in various denominations as well as bingo on site should you be inclined to take in a session. For those more interested in betting on horses and international sporting events, turn to the casino’s sportsbook where you can place your wagers. There’s a fair few things to do in the city. After hours of walking, take a load off and pop indoors for a session of slots and sports wagering. A nice little win could fund a few dinners out in the evenings.

Hotel/Accommodations

There are no hotels on site but just over 2 km from the casino you can find the Fiesta Inn Culiacan Hotel. Located in the Forum Plaza, the hotel is conveniently located close to several major attractions like the Botanical Garden and the science centre, and is about 20 minutes from the airport. Rooms here have views overlooking the Tamazula River. Be sure while here to get as much information you can about all the local attractions so as to best maximize your holiday in the city.

Dining

There’s plenty of options where you can grab some authentic Mexican fare from local restaurants to road-side stalls. Ask hotel and casino staff to point out those place popular with locals and tourists or choose your own based on budget or convenience. If you’d rather sample some Chinese cuisine, there’s Restaurant China-Loa, with an all-you-can-eat buffet. Alternately, there’s Restaurant Huy Fong, open from 8: 30 am until 8 pm.

Attractions/NightLife

There’s plenty of night life to be found here, with the bars and clubs around the city. For dancing, try O’Lydia Discoteque or Penthouse Klub. Kuwa also has live music. Able to seat around 300 people, watch the Dancing Fountain, a water show put to music. Other interesting water features around include the Imala hot springs and Splash Club, great if you have kids. If you’d like to spend the days and afternoons in the parks, try Ernesto Millan Escalante Park with its lake and gardens or Las Riveras Park. Hotspots of activities are the plazas, such as Plaza Fiesta, Plaza la Campina and Plaza Galerias San Miguel. Other attractions include the Estadio Angel Flores (a baseball stadium), the Botanical Garden, the Centro Cultural Genaro Estrada and the Regional History Museum. Religious sites include the La Lonita (or Templo de Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe), tallest church in Culiacan.

Rewards/Deals

The casino has a player rewards system in place. Collect and redeem points toward food and drink purchases. Ask staff for further details about membership and benefits.
