Casino de Casteljaloux

Casteljaloux is located in the Queyran and the Pays d’Albert, in the department of Lot-et-Garonne and in the region of Aquitaine in south-western France. Locals are called Casteljalousains. A good place to begin would be Republic Square, with the Town Hall, built back in 1859, with new renovations completed in 1988. After admiring old architecture with the churches and older parts of the city, swing by the casino for a session of slots and cards.

Some of these include La Vieille Auberge, with its classic cuisine and charming environs, and Les Cordeliers, serving traditional fare, about ½ of a km from the casino. Attractions/NightLife

Visit the casino bar to find all your favourite drinks, open 7 days a week, with summer terrace seating facing Lake Clarens. Other bars in the area include the Grand Café and Café du Commerce. If bull-fighting is your thing, look for the Landes races, held annually. Like history and architecture? Visit Old Casteljaloux, with its timber homes dating back as far as the 15th and 16th centuries. Check out Town Hall over in Republic Square, built back in 1859, with complete renovations done in 1988. Notre Dame, built in the 15th century, later destroyed and rebuilt in 1682, was recognized as a historical monument in 1998. Couvent des Codeliers (15th and 17th century), today serves as a nursing home and hospital and is recognized as a historic monument. Other attractions include Maison du Roy (16th century) and remnants of the city’s early fortifications (walls), dating back to the 14th century. Assorted local activities include golfing, hiking, strolls along the lake, and swimming.
