Casino de Castera Verduzan

Castera-Verduzan is a French commune in the department of Gers and the region of Midi-Pyrenees. The name comes simply from being halfway between both Castera and Verduzan. Soak in the outdoors by strolling along the local lake, walking across the sandy beaches or through one the assorted green areas. There are several historic areas of interest, in and near the city. Highlights include the 12th century Castle Lavardens, the town of Condom, with its 7 churches and Bandas Festival (held in June), the Cistercian Abbey of Flaran, Lupiac, the birthplace of d’Artagnan, L’Isle Jourdain, with its college and bell museum, and Larressingle, the stronghold of the bishops of Condom. After a lot of walking, and perhaps a fair bit od driving, head over to the casino and unwind to a session of slots.

For traditional cuisine and regional specialties enjoyed indoors in front of a roaring fire or outdoors on their shaded terrace, try Le Florida.

Head to the showroom located on the first floor of the hotel, showcasing assorted art exhibitions throughout the year. During days, enjoy various outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, picnicking, visiting the thermal baths, or heading to the race track. When sun sets and you’re looking to unwind and enjoy a few drinks, there’s the Bar Castera Verduzan, or try 2qm. Like to party? Watch for the Feria de Vic. While this cultural festival revolves around bull-fighting, it’s also a popular event for partiers, seeing around 45,000 guests annually. Other festivals include the Country Festival (July) and the Jazz Festival in August.
