Hastings Park Racecourse

Vacationers can look forward to a weekend of fun when visiting Hastings Racecourse. Located on the same property as Playland Amusement Park, Hastings Skate Park and the Pacific Coliseum, bring the family for a holiday they won’t forget. Plan an afternoon in scenic Cove Forest, Mountain Forest or Mt. Seymour Provincial Park. Other options include seeing Mt. Elsay in the beautiful North Shore Mountains or golfing at Northlands Golf Course or Seymour Golf and Country Club. Of course, the big draw here, is the thoroughbred racing and simulcast racing from tracks around the world though slots fans will find enough of those too.

Gaming

The casino has over 600 video and classic slot machines with many in 1 and 2 cent denominations, a healthy selection for slots fans. The racecourse is of course the larger draw for people vising Hastings. Open for thoroughbred racing every weekend from April until November, watch from their tiered grandstand with its indoor and outdoor viewing options. Simulcast video monitors relay races from around the world.

Hotel/Accommodations

There are currently no hotels on site. One nearby option is the Holiday Inn Express Vancouver, located on the corner of the park, and providing its patrons free internet, hot breakfast, complimentary parking, a business centre for your convenience, in-room movies, and rooms with cable and satellite tv. The hotel also has a fitness centre.

Dining

Hungry visitors have several options from which to choose. Eclipse Lounge is their newest addition. It comes complete with 65 seats and a separate dining room. The area is full service so come here for a few appetizers and take a respite from the gaming floor. Enjoy their big screen entertainment with 15 flat screen tv monitors and projection screen. Silks offers full dining and has a full buffet every race day. Tiered seating and floor to ceiling windows provide excellent views of the North Shore Mountains. Table-side monitors insure you don’t miss any of the racing action. Jeromes: All your favourite foods in a relaxed, casual environment. Order a hearty breakfast or delicious burger. Ask your server about monthly food features. Furlongs Eatery: quick bites and easy fare. Grab something for one the go between trips to the track or gaming floor.

Entertainment/Nightlife

The entertainment here is the horses and races. If interested, soak up a bit of local culture by visiting nearby establishments such as Princeton Pub, sneakers Sports Lounge or Oscar’s Pub. Meet some of the locals between races or for an evening out. Outdoor enthusiasts interested in hiking or taking photos can check out nearby Cove Forest, Mountain Forest or simply take in the beauty of the North Shore Mountains.
