Since the said event is about to started, I decided to create a new forum thread.

What can you say about the doping issue that the team of Russia face? Do you think that they deserve to be given the chance to participate in the said event?

It's tough to say but I believe at least a few Russian athletes are clean and they should be allowed to participate because they have worked hard to qualify.

I've read that Russia will avoid a complete ban from this year's Olympics. I think that is a good decision, not all of their athletes have to suffer the consequences.

This is stupid. Like, this has politics background in my opinion. USA government vouches for their athletes, and entire Russian delegation gets strictly tested without any chance to defend themselfs.

Every athlete gets tested, not just Russians.

Come onnn. Only 5 days until the start of the Olympics games. This will be the best Olympics ever.

It was a little bit sad considering that only few players from Russia will be able to participate in Rio 2016. They only have a single athlete for track and field (Darya Klishina (Long Jump).

I cant wait for this to officially start. Not much about football since we all do know this aint top quality one, but most about basketball, athletics and those kind of stuff. Decorated my bar into a sport pub for Rio Olympics, I will post some pictures here maybe :P

Eventho most of my countrymen were disappointed that Ana Ivanovic lost in the 1st round I must say I expected it, she is freshly married, misses Bastian and who cares about Olympics. I am being sarcastic ofcourse, did not expect that bad of a result from her.

Not so good start by Serbian Olympic team, so goal around 10-15 medals is not even close.

I agree mujzepri . we are very proud of Djokovic and I believe has a chance at the next Olympics .

It has been a shame that Mirella Belmonte could not have gained in them 200m of freestyle. Tomorrow another final has in 200m butterfly. I hope that it goes out well. Spain only takes a medal of bronze and she has gained it. :(  I Hope that this changes. Always it gains the USA and China:  :(  :(

Really bad starting couple of days for Serbia, as Djokovic lost in both single and double, basketball players lost to Australia, Ivanovic list, Jankovic couldn't play cause of the injury, women basketball lost to Canada even after having 12 points advantage and so on.

First medal for Slovenia, Tina Trstenjak won the Gold medal in JUDO .

Another game another lose by Serbian basketball team. This time 1 point vs France, we havent scored for last 2 and a half minutes. We went for medal, top 4 would be miracle by this point...

The wonderful girls in the Women's Epee Team gave Romania their first medal at the 2016 Olympics, it was a great moment last night! Even more enjoyable since we beat the reigning champions and tournament favourites China.

Serbia is still waiting for first medal at Rio 2016 :( I hope it will heapen soon, there were huge expectations at the beginings.

Wow, still no medals for Serbia? Wasn't expecting that to be honest. I guess I should be very happy with Romania's 4 medals then :)

I think they already have a few, I remember watching a Serbian winning a gold medal in wrestling a couple of days ago.

I was completely off. That's what you get for not having a TV, and relying on foreign news sources, where no one mentions Serbia. :D

Serbia's medal tally is actually pretty good I think, 7 in total: 2 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and 2 bronzes so far. And there's basketball surely.

Yeah, very good. I've watched the basketball semi-final against Australia, Serbia played an excellent game. I doubt they'll beat the USA team in the final, but at least the silver medal is certain.

yes, that was pretty much impossible, so silver is a fantastic result.

Yes Serbia has had a great success in team games at the Olympiad, something which I think we all here at the Balkans should learn from.

I was disappointed not to see many of the cycling races, track and road ones and also handball  because of the missing TV coverages.

Some unusual sports like Archery,Trap shooting and Rugby 7's was quite entertaining for my surprise.

As a whole it was quite nice Olympiad I think.

I have missed the cycling races too but Romanian TV did pull off a nice surprise on the last day by broadcasting the Mountain Bike race, it was quite spectacular.

Yes Johnny, forgot to mention that, it wasn't live coverage and it wasn't the whole race here but I was exiting one, this sport will become a lot more popular if thee are enough TV coverages I think because it's really entertaining, those first two guys were like machines or something :)
