Kokkinakis is the underdog here, he's just a 17-year old boy from Australia while Kavcic is an experienced player, but a rather mediocre one, ranked 116th. Kokkinakis stunned the world earlier this year when he defeated Sijsling at the Australian Open, and he also pulled off great wins against the likes of Dodig, Chardy and Golubev. He is a tall lad with powerful serve and a mean forehand while Kavcic is not among the best on hard indoor, in fact he has a negative record on this surface in the last three seasons. An upset is possible here but it's a rather risky bet considering the young age of the Australian. He could be a star in the making though.

The youngster didn't pull off the upset this time, Kavcic won in straight sets.

These two are probably the best teams in Europe when it comes to attacking football, Man City have an average goal scoring ratio of four hits per game at home this season while Barcelona are also scoring freely, just won a match 6-0 last weekend and bagged 15 goals in their last five matches. I can't see a cagey match between these two, attack is in their DNA so I expect at least three goals to be scored, most likely by both sides.

Venus Williams is old now but she still is a remarkable player, serving well and hitting the ball hard with every chance she gets. She's in pretty good form this year, managed a final at Auckland when she was beaten by today's opponent, Ana Ivanovic. That match ended in three sets, in fact three of the last four meetings on hard between these two had over 22 games. Ivanovic is in good form as well, so I think we'll see a tight match, most likely with three sets.

This should be a tight match between two fairly similar players, both serving well and enjoying the fast surface in Marseille. The only meeting between them was two years ago and Gulbis won in three sets. Gulbis served 23 aces in his previous match, a three-setter against Bautista, while Mahut won all his service games in the previous two matches, allowing just one break point. This match should have at least two long sets if not three.

Wrong again, off by just one game as Gulbis won 6-3 7-6. I guess I'll take a break from predictions for a while, can't seem to get one right these days.

Betting against the team that I support is rather strange but there's logic behind this. I do have a ticket for tonight's match but I bought it to see Messi in action rather than support the pathetic Romanian national team. We failed to qualify for the World Cup, there's little to no confidence in the head coach and they players' morale is low as well. Argentina will be fielding all their stars, including Messi, and they will want to deliver a solid performance ahead of the World Cup. There is no doubt in my mind that Argentina will win this match and the -1 handicap seems a great solution, money back if they win by just one goal (they should win by more than one goal in my view, especially since Romania will be without their best central defender).
