This is a bit of a long shot but I think it's worth taking. Sir Bradley Wiggins is by far the favourite to win today's time trial stage and if the weather is fine he will probably win it. But I have checked the weather forecast and it seems there will be rain and Wiggins is well known for his inability to perform in such conditions. If it rains as the forecasts predict American youngster Taylor Phinney will have a real shot at winning this stage. So I guess it's worth taking with reduced stakes.

Phinney had a terrible day, so the prediction was wrong.

This should be a close match between the top two Italian players at the moment. Both of them will be determined to do well in front of the home crowd so there might be quite a bit of tension added as well. The last two matches between them ended in three close sets, last year in Bucharest and a few weeks ago in Monte Carlo.

The prediction proved wrong because Seppi played a very bad match, lost 6-4 6-1.

Gasquet always had good runs in this tournament, reached semi finals and quarter finals in the past seasons. He is a slight favourite in this match since he has won all three previous meetings against Dimitrov, but the Bulgarian is a much better player now, seems to be having lots of confidence this days. An important fact is that none of the two matches they played last year ended in straight sets. I think it will be a close match and Dimitrov might even win it.

Quite a surprise in my view, Gasquet won 6-4 6-4.

Event: Novak Djokovic vs Aleksandr Dolgopolov, ATP Rome

Djokovic is obviously the big favourite here, he should beat Dolgopolov. But I don't think it will be that easy, especially since Dolgopolov is well-rested after advancing thanks to Wawrinka's withdrawal yesterday. Dolgopolov is a very talented and surprising player and he always is motivated when playing against the top dogs. Djokovic has beaten him in both previous meetings but it never was easy, Dolgopolov even took a set when they met last year in Monte Carlo. So I think Nole will win but not easily.

Wrong prediction again, even by just one game. I guess I have to pause for a few days and wait for better inspiration.

Event: Sloane Stephens - Tsvetana Pironkova, WTA Brussels

Stephens is the clear favourite here in my view, she seemed to play well in Rome after a pretty bad period, won a couple of good matches before getting beaten by Sharapova. Pironkova on the other hand is going through a terrible period of time, won just one of her last 10 official matches! Pironkova doesn't seem to be doing too well on clay so I guess Stephens does have a chance of winning this match comfortably. The only previous meeting between the two was won by Stephens last year, 6-4 6-1.

The match was interrupted but the prediction has already proven wrong because Stephens had a blackout in the second set, lost 6-2, after winning the first one 6-3. It was 2-2 in the third set when it was interrupted.

Bedene is in good shape, defeated Davydenko against the odds in the previous round, and lost just two of his last 10 matches, all of them on clay. Kamke is better ranked and has the support of the home fans, so he should put up a good fight as well. I think this can't be a short match.

The biggest match of the football season in Europe, a clash between the best teams in German football. As much as I would want to see lots of goals in this match I think it won't be the case, the two teams know each other perfectly since they are playing in the same league and the importance of the match will make them both cautious. In fact, they have met three times this season and all the matches ended with 2 goals or less: two 1-1 draws in the league and a 1-0 victory for Dortmund in the German Cup.

The prediction was correct with one minute left in the match but unfortunately Robben scored in the last minute to give Bayern a 2-1 win and the trophy. It was a great match.

Gasquet is the clear favourite here and I don't think a player like Stakhovsky can pose too many problems. Gasquet always seems to play very well at the French Open while Stakhovsky is a player that is more suited to faster courts, having a negative career record on clay. The last meeting between the two was at the 2011 US Open and that time Gasquet won in straight sets, I expect a similar outcome today.

Paire is in great shape, he reached the semi finals last week in Rome after beating top players like Del Potro and Monaco. He will be highly motivated to do well in front of the French fans as a good run here might also take him into the world top 20. Baghdatis doesn't do well on clay, has no wins on this surface this year, just three defeats. I don't think the Cypriot player will pose any problems to Paire, whose last two losses on clay this season were to out of this world players like Nadal and Federer. The odds are very good for under 35.5 games, worth a try.

The prediction was wrong because Paire had some concentration problems in the first set and dropped it 6-3. Then he regained some composure and won the following three 7-6, 6-4, 6-4, but too late to matter for this bet.

This is game one of the Western Conference Finals and Chicago are slight favourites, but they had lots of overtime games this season so I'd go with the safer overtime included option. The Kings are not doing well on the road, won just one out of the last 11 matches away from home, so I believe the Blackhawks will win this one. Chicago won 2 of the three matches against the Kings this season but all of them were mighty close.

Strangely they have met only once before, and that was all the way back in 2006. Djokovic is the obvious favourite here but I don't think he will have an easy afternoon against veteran Haas. The German player has been in exceptional form lately, he has absolutely nothing to lose and I believe he will show us some wonderful tennis once again. Djokovic had quite a few problems en route to the quarter finals so I believe it will be either a close three-setter or Haas will even manage to snatch a set.

I ended up by watching most of the matches to my surprise.

Good pick on Tsonga! I was surprised to see that goes so easy.. Well, maybe a time for Roger to take a deep breath and think about what to do next. He still is one of, if not the best, there ever was.

As for Djokovic, I believe he won't have an easy match, but will make it through. I think he has a good chance of winning the tournament, although not at his best. His first trainer (a really nice old lady) has died a few days ago, and I have a feeling he will dedicate the tournament to her.

I think Sharapova will win and probably defend her title eventually.

I believe that an upset is possible here, worth taking with small to medium stakes.

Mayer is the big favourite here, more than 200 positions ahead of Fischer in the ATP rankings, so he will probably win it. But an upset is possible, Fischer is coming from the qualifying rounds, has won three straight matches, while Mayer had rather poor results lately and might have some problems adjusting to the grass court, which is not one of his favourites overall anyway. I think we might see a close match and the Asian Handicap option might be worth taking.

Monfils is the favourite in this match but I don't think that the odds reflect the real value of these two players, the bookies seem to underestimate Monfils. It's true that he's coming from a whole year on the sidelines due to injury but he seemed in solid shape at Roland Garros and more determined than ever to climb back up the rankings. Raonic is a good player on fast courts, no doubt about that, but there is a possibility of an upset here and it might be worth taking with small stakes.
