    PokerStars' announcement of a rake increase in October 2014 hasn't been very popular among poker players. The initial rake increase was applicable to its heads-up, hyper-turbo, sit-and-go tournaments as of November 3rd with a second round of increases scheduled for this year.

     

    As a result of the negative feedback and a period of review, PokerStars/Amaya Gaming Head of Corporate Communications, Eric Hollreiser, announced that the increases are being nixed except for the November changes to Spin & Go tables.

     

    PokerStars players should already be taking advantage of pre-November 2014 rake.

    yeah that is actually a good news. A lot of players were against this model, as well as them not being trilled about PokerStars' plan to introduce casino games.

    yeah they announced:  "After additional analysis and consideration, we have now returned the rake to pre-November 3 levels in most instances and have cancelled the planned additional increases. Spin & Go tournament fees and payout changes implemented on November 3 will remain in place."

     

    hehe no kidding? after all the negative feedback they got...

    It is good news...however, the last sentence of the news item "Hollreiser does not predict any rake increases this year with the exception of jurisdictions that may increase taxes."

     

    So it's not actually across the board as such - still very good news though and I think a victory for the players who were up in arms over it..
