It involves the licensing authority. The casino doesn't want conflictt. They can face consequences if they don't restrict access to a player who they have reason to believe has a gambling problem. They can be human and acknowledge you were joking proceed accordingly. They chose to be safe and just permanently restrict your access. 

The casinos have to have a process for you to tell them you want limits on your play or you want to be banned. They also have a process for you to ban yourself, wait a period of time, a year IIRC, and then allow you to submit written instructions to remove the ban and verify your identity. This is all legal compliance stuff. 

I'm sure you are aware of the location restrictions and how some places can have some bonuses, some can't, some can't even sign up. That is them trying to comply with every law. 

You sending that email exposed them to risk that can only be limited by instantly banning you. Otherwise they may get in trouble 5 years from now for not blocking you. Either you complain or the regulator checks records. 

The reason they allow you to play at sister properties is each has a different license. You only told Yabby you have a gambling problem. For legal purposes the casinos have separate records from each other.
