Imagine winning a staggering $166 million. It happened at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa when Bill Seebeck a Daytona Beach man playing the Bally Ultimate Party Spin slot. He played for about a half hour at $4 a spin and spent about $80 when all of a sudden the bells started ringing and the numbers flashed a staggering cash bonus of $166,666,666.65.
“$166,666,666.65. I was screaming ... heart was beating really fast,” he said. The Casino managers roped off the area and while he waited for an hour to get paid he was on an adrenaline high thinking about how he was going to spend all that money.
His world came tumbling down quickly when casino management told him the Ultimate Party Spin had spun out of control, malfunctioned and he wouldn’t get any money for a malfunction. They asked him to sign an agreement that the machine malfunctioned in writing, but he refused.
“They make you think you won and everyone around you that you won, and then later, ‘It's probably a malfunction,’” he said.
The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino spokesman said the slot machine malfunctioned because its top prize is $99,000. Seebeck was not even given that amount.
“I was told, ’No,’ even though the Seminole Gaming Commission has no idea how the machine malfunctioned,” he explained.
“I feel let down and ripped off, I sure do,” he said.

OMG I would flip out! NO way I'd sign that either but I wonder what he can do now?
Here's a story from a woman at the Blue Chip Casino in Indiana.
She sat down at a penny slot machine called China Shore and put her player's card into the machine. Within 5 minutes it flashed 28 million credits. She thought she had won but it turned out to be a malfunction.
In reality it really didn't make sense that she would have won that much wagering such a small amount plus there was no progressive jackpot.
The 28 million credits were actually showing in her players balance and not really a slot win. The credits were voided and she was offered a steak dinner for the inconvenience.
She doesn't even like steak and thinks she deserves to be paid $28 million.3.1/ 5

Of course she doesn't like "steak". Who would win you've had a large amount of cash dangled in front of you.
Reading these 2 stories, reminds me especially if the attendants did congratulate for the win. They probably were fired afterwards. I was always trained in the 3 casinos I worked at. If the win was over a certain amount. You never even started to hint that the win was theirs. You couldn't say congratulations or it's your lucky day or anything along those lines. You had to wait for the machine to be verified first. Otherwise you created a liability for that sort of thing.
Then again for the casino to try to make a patron sign an agreement they already agreed to when they stuck the money in the machine. Was kind of stupid on there part. Mainly because every slot machine says clearly on it malfunction voids all credits and pays. So the manufacturer already covered the casinos and there ass from malfunction. -

The 28 mil story is pretty obvious that there was a malfunction. The screen didn't even look normal. I could see if it was legit win and it was taken from you more like the story lips posted but how could she even think she won that kind of cash with such a low wager.
Anyway, I know what you mean cheetah. They typically don't congratulate you right away at the casino. They always wait and now I know why. -

I don't think that she could get the 28mil even if she sued them, and to be honest, it was a mistake...
On the other hand, she sure deserves a little more than a steak dinner! She could suffered a heart attack or get her blood pressure up seeing the numbers, and then the casino would probably have to pay way more than a steak! -

An 87 year old woman plays a penny Slot at Isle Casino Hotel Waterloo, Iowa. When suddenly every gamblers dream comes true she hits a mind blowing $41,797,550.16. The Casino goes nuts congratulating here including the staff who informs her of all the benefits that go along with winning that kind of cash!
She was playing the Miss Kitty Slot - the machine we have all heard meow!
Then comes the big crash and burn after a state investigation determines the machine malfunctioned. According to Brian Ohorilko, director of gaming for IRGC - Slot malfunctions are rare adding:
"Before games are approved for play, they go through a rigourous testing process. Modern slots are computerized and contain chips that control the randomness of the game.
"They are computers, so every now and then there will be something like this."
Her attorneys argued in court the Isle Casino knew programming updates were available and didn't act on them. Employees were also aware they could disable the machine's award bonus capability but didn't, the suit alleges. -

that sucks...but i bet in general playing that machine your royal flushes are far and few between (at amx bet at least lol) but then again when do you sit and play less than the max on video poker, either way...i'd be bummed!!
oh and good thing she didn't go and have a heart attack when she saw the $1,000,000 flash across-that would have really sucked!! -

It is awful but didn't she think something was strange because the Progressive lit up sign above the bank of Video Poker machines was $800. I can't believe at some point someone didn't inquire about the huge cash differences and it wasn't fixed. I wonder how long that was showing a million bucks.
Regardless if table on the machine shows a million and then the payout shows a million then like the lawyer said its not a machine malfunction, someone dropped the ball in doing their job! -

Woman Wins $42 Million......so she thinks!
It happened at the Fortune Valley Casino, in Central City, Colo., Louise Chavez thought she had won a staggering-- $42 million.
That was until the casino claimed the machine malfunctioned and all she ended up with was a few bucks, some free meals and a room for the night.
Colorado gaming officials claim it was an unfortunate computer glitch.
"I put my money in there," Chavez told "Good Morning America." "Whatever I won, I should get... There are dreams and there are things I'd like to do -- helping my family, helping my kids. That's why I'm disappointed. I just don't know."
"All of a sudden I saw the light come on on top of the machine," Chavez told "Good Morning America." "I'm like, 'Oh, my God! Oh, my God!' I'd never had this feeling before in my life, never."
The total payout she was $42,949,673 and sure would of been nice for her who makes about $12,000 per year as an in-home personal care provider.
"We've been open for 15 years at Fortune Valley and this is the first time we've had something of this magnitude," Fortune Valley communications director Joe Behm said.
"My emotions changed from excited, thrilled to very upset," she said.
"It's unfortunate when it happens," said Colorado Division of Gaming spokesman Don Burmania.
"We don't like it to happen, the casinos don't like it to happen and in this case, the patron didn't like it, either." -

I would demand for them to show me exactly how it malfunctioned... I think they just do not want to pay out such a large amount. I would call who ever looks after all the casino for fair gaming or do they not even have someone doing that. Here in Nevada we do so I feel comfortable playing at our casinos. That is just sad and it seems to happen a lot but not in Nevada...lol

Win $330k......Casino says NO!
Playing the Quartermania Slot at Harrah's Ak-Chin Casino will be an experience Hermenia Rodriquez, 64, will never forget. On October 11, 1997 he had won the $330,000 Progressive Jackpot but unfortunately the Tribal casino officials claimed the slot had a defective computer chip.
Viewing the camera video footage taken that night showed Rodriquez playing the slot several minutes before she hit the jackpot. It took Casino the casino five hours later to say it was a glitch, according to an inspection by an independent lab.
The player, a former migrant farm worker, hoped to use the Jackpot win on her grandchildren, including a granddaughter who has kidney problems and might require dialysis. "I hope no one else will go through the same pain I went through," she said.
