  • When I want to lose weight, I eat less and get more exercise. I don't join a gym or do vigorous workouts, I go for long walks. I cut out junk food that I'm eating. I stop and think about why I'm going to eat....am I really hungry? or bored? or want a sugar fix?

    Also, I quit eating when I am full, instead of eating until the plate is empty.

    I think focusing that I am "on a diet," only makes it worse. It makes me think about food constantly and want to eat even more often. If I do eat something that I'm not "supposed to," I just end up feeling guilty and putting myself down, and feeling bad, which could lead to more eating or just giving up. I need to give myself credit for what I have done and not kick myself if I have a "slip"

    I think it is very important to be patient. Also, as with anything, take things a day at a time.

  • There is no best diet at all. The people are very different and some things are good for one person but not good for the others. There is a programm in Germany developed by some sport fellows which can find out what kind of food is good specifically for you and what kind of work out/sports is good specifically for you after combining different informaion about you. They make this after some analyses and this is all science laugh_out_loud

  • I think it's all about balanced diet. Occasional sweets, or cheat meals are perfectly fine.

  • I lost 10 kilos (22 pounds) in 2 months. From 90 kilos to 80 kilos. The method that worked for me was to count calories. Very simple, basic math. 1 kilo bodyfat = around 7000 calories. So I reached my goal by just cutting about 500 calories a day for two months. smiley

  • I remember my first diet when I wanted to lose weight while I was in the military back in 1980. My diet was saltines and bouillon cubes. Dropped 25 pounds.

  • I've read/heard/educated myself and the thing that works is being vegan. Yes you probably won't see huge results in few weeks as it is with calorie counting diets, but vegan lifestyle actually does good to your health and you will lose your weight eventually too. I became vegan almost a year ago and never have I felt better. And especially with high carbs. That isn't true that carbs are bad because they actually feed your cells..And don't forget that vegans have as many delicious things as everything eaters. For example today we had full grain pasta with brussel sprouts and vegan cheese, it was so deicious and healthy! And also lose the alcohol, not only it's bad for you but also it has lots of bad calories.   • I think that the best diet is the Mediterranean. Eat only healthy stuff and without taking risks that blood tests found not good. Seeing is believing!smiley

  • Have you ever heard about diet bandagess? Well, it's some kind od a aromatherapy, but i always say to the ladies - the bandage can work if you pot it over youre mouth. So, maybe that is the good diet :)

  • Bleh to diets. I am fat very fat but I dont eat that badly. Do i eat chocolate and chips sure. Could I eat a little less, yeah but I dont think I overdo it. Plus us girls know sometimes you need a little more than usual. The death of me will be my addiction to coke. Not softdrink in general, just coke. What i need to do is quit completely and then just excercise 3 or 4 times a week and id be fine. I think its about knowing what works for your body. You know those people who eat so much junk and put on no weight. I dont believe in restrictions unless it something that is absoutely killing you like coke that is super addictive. Must be the caffine because i dont drink coffee, hate it, so I guess coke is that substitute with loads of chemicals and sugar. And no I hate coke zero, it tastes wrong without the sugar.

  • I think that the main problem is food. For example, I really like sweets, and they are full of sugar, what is one of reasons people are geting fat. Also, a lot of bread is a problem. So, I think that the best 'diet' is eating less sweets, less bread, and getting interested in some activities and exercies. :)

  • i love to eat good food. and i hate dieting but i found out that when i do start gaining too much weight i eat smaller portions and not late at night.

  • The best diet is the one that you can make work for you. I have found that dieting is a lot easier said than done. But a simple one for me that has worked is to cut out or minimize sweets and alcohol and getting a bit more physical activity at the same time.

  • And to speak seriously. One of my friends is the model. She eats much meat and vegetables. And before any food she eats a couple slices of lemon. Lemon does not allow to be absorbed by carbohydrates. And she moves a lot.
