One of my favorites is a A Christmas Story , I was born in 1952 and so this period piece is so familiar to me. The clothing and household items are spot on. When Ralphie goes to see Santa it looks so much like our Sears store that had a Santa. The Christmas parade was so relistic i could almost smell the chestnut vendor roasting his nuts(Did i say that?) selling them during the parade. I have old home movies from 1958 and onward and they compliment this movie so well. I was raised by my Grandparents and my Grandfather had a mouth that would make a sailor blush so here is my fav quote from the movie

I never watched It's a Wonderful Life until a few years ago.  Weird I know.  I was badgered by friends to watch it so finally I did.

medtrans...I have never seen It's a Wonderful Life...that or The Sound of Music.

This isn't a specific movie but our family started a tradition of GOING to the movies every Christmas Day.
We have done it for 8 years and haven't missed except for last year as I was out of state.

I just watched "The Grinch who stole Christmas" last night and there is such a wonderful lesson for children, as well as adults, about focusing on the spirit of Christmas and no so much on the material things.

My all time favorite is "A Christmas Story". You didn't have to grow up in the '40's to relate to some of the things in this movie. I mean, who hasn't been tempted to stick their tongue on some metal in the middle of winter. My favorite part is when Ralphie's mom is on the phone with another mother telling her Ralphie learned the swear word from her son. All of a sudden you hear "WHAT? WHAT?"...STOMP STOMP STOMP...WHACK WHACK.

My mom loved classic movies and we would all curl in her bed and watch alot of movies on Christmas eve and Christmas day.

Another good movie that I saw a few days ago is INCEPTION(2011) with leonardo di caprio.Has an interesting story and very complicated at the same time and you need to stay very focus and nothing disturb you to understand this movie.Won 4 oscars and I recommend you with great pleasure!!!

I love Three Godfathers , this was a John Wayne movie made in 1948 Just before Christmas a outlaw returns to his home town North Jerusalem to rob the bank He has a gang rob the bank run to the desert and find a half dead woman having a baby.With her dying breath, she begs them to care for her child. The story is of these men struggling to take care of this newborn baby and how they each offered up their life. I cried at the end of this movie . A different Christmas movie . Three outlaws as the three kings and the babe

I want to put also here a movie that had premiere last year: A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas and it has become one of my favourite Christmas movies. A good comedy and adventure movie, but this you cannot watch it with you wife and kids

Seriously sponge bob and his antics keep coming .My favorite part of the movie was when he was placed on the naughty list by Santa.

Even though this isn't a tradional Christmas movie, I Loved watching The Wizard of Oz during the Holdiays.  What a great and timeless movie.

I WILL watch It's a Wonderful Life this year.

I am 60 but am a sucker for Christmas cartoons with the grandkids . One of my favorite is Olive the other Reindeer. It is about a little dog that here's christmas is off on a radio broadcast. She mistakes the announcer saying All of the other reindeer and believes he is saying Olive the Other Reindeer . She is voiced by Drew Barrymore and has become a yearly favorite for our family. My 3yr old grandson has been watching it for monthes. It is charming and different from many of the specials

When I was growing up every year my Mom and I would watch the tradition Holiday cartoons, which included A Charlie Brown Christmas, Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer, Santa Claus is Coming to Town and Frosty the Snowman.  These movies bring back a lot of memories for me.  I can remember EVERY single year my Mom crying while watching Charlie Brown and she tried hard to hold back the tears when Frosty melted.  Beautiful memories.  Now, my son's and I carry on the tradition every year.  I haven't cried watching these until this year, thinking of my Mama and how we looked forward to these classics every year. 

I adorw Turner Classic movies and Christmas is not Christmas without the movie White Christmas with Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye , I remember us having a Noche Buena party Christmas eve . We would have 40 or more people in and out for roasted pork , black beans and rice , Children got presents from aunts , uncles , friends and grandparents. Before going to bed we got to see White Christmas every year . I still see it and can sing each and every song from the movie. It brings home each wonderful feeling and memory. I have watched it twice already on Fox Movie channel

I haven't been completely naughty or nice all the time but I will pick one specific person I have tried to
be NICE to all year......my dad. 
I have tried being his lifeline this year.  He didn't know how to text last Christmas so I taught him.  He bought himself a smartphone and we sent up a system that he texts me every morning when he gets up so I know he is okay.  I called everyday for several months and now I call 4-5 times a week.
I often send 'thinking of you cards, homemade chocolate chips cookies (his fave), pics of my mom he hasn't seen on her birthday.  I made him a DVD celebrating my moms' life for Christmas. 
This Christmas will be the hardest for all of my family but I am trying to make it the best for him that I can.

I think I have been naughty this year (in the way gabby just implied---LOVED THAT!!!) but also because I honestly don't like myself.  I am my own worst enemy.  I always wish I could be nicer or get mad less but it just seems I was made to be a jerk.    I deserve a big ole lump of coal.  I automatically mistrust people and not very sympathetic towards most.  I try to work on it everyday and in general hope I'm doing at least alittle better.

One day that actually was nice was when I popped into The Riviera for a little Wizard of Oz action before work because the bus schedules usually don't run exactly on the hour, and I was playing Ruby Slippers... I lost $15 of a $20 and I was like thanks a lot Glenda... and I went into the bathroom right next to the machine and stuck the TITO ticket back in when I came out and bet minimum 40 lines.

OF COURSE Glenda pops out on the first spin, only two bubbles, reels 2 and 4 wild... so I'm thinking WHATEVER GLENDA... wild in the middle of reel 1, glenda middle of reel 3, wild middle of reel 5... and almost all the symbols matched up... it hiccups for a second and then I realize it's RUBY SLIPPERS time... tap tap tap LOOK UP... x5... then it still doesn't pay out and I hear this faint whistling coming from the top... like a space version of "somewhere over the rainbow" and Glenda comes flying out of nowhere... out not on the screen but above where the multiplier was shown in pink... and taps it and makes it x10... I'm freaking out at this point... the obligatory older couple stopped behind the machine to watch... it wasn't a handpay, but $522 on a .40 bet... I'm happy. Haven't had close to a 1,300x my bet win in awhile. I'm sure that night after work I was feeling a bit naughty... :-)

If I have to choose I'd say I've been more nice than naughty (even though it's more fun being naughty).
I let my daughter, her fiance, their newborn, and their 2 dogs and 5 puppies move in. I gave up my room and now sleep on the couch. Once I get past the dog hair that seems to be everywhere and things being chewed up, I really enjoy having them here, especially my granddaughter. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I"ve been very good this year. I have although been just slackin off.

The last three years though I was helping out with family issues relating to someone having cancer and having to go through treatment. I actually relocated to be able to help out, and moved in with them and tended to as many issues as I could to lessen the burden for them and their wife.

It was hellish i tell ya though. When someone has a death threatening illness al sorts of emotions start to fly unpredictably. It was very hard to deal with for so long, but the family member successfully completed treatment and is in full remission.

I still help out with minding their house while they are away for follow up checkups to assure that the cancer isn't coming back, but other than that i've moved into my own place, and am living the good life so-to-speak.... Low stress and nothing much to do but tend to myself... just like an extended vacation it seems.

Well in retrospect it is very rewarding to have helped out when they were in dire need. I feel very good about having done it, and wouldn't change the relocating to do it, if i could take it back. Things have worked out rather nicely overall. I am pleased and pleased with myself.

I guess you can say that I am pretty much ending my year on a "nice" note .... I was in the local drugstore this evening and a woman walked in dragging a suitcase with a note on it that said "Homeless and Hungry.  She was looking for some bootie slippers that they had on sale and I offered to make the purchase for her.  She was so greatful and I felt like a million bucks .. knowing that I could make someone happy that wasn't as fortunate as I.  Merry Christmas Everyone!
