Even when the BIG word is announced, eyes open wide, silence appears to be what usually comes after the announcement about some lucky guy (or girl) out there walking away with some jaw-dropping amount of cash. However, we are not going to share the news about someone hitting the Shopping Spree jackpot, as it hasn’t happened for many years. Eight, to be precise.
Inspired by this interesting curiosity, we decided to immerse ourselves into some detective work, with the generous help of our expert friend who cracks down numbers faster than the speed of light. The research gives useful info about the possibility of winning and the overall return of the game.
Has the Moment for Shopping Mania Arrived?
Taking Shackleford’s analysis “with the tablespoon of salt” (as he advised)…
…we shall give you the essentials of one of the most mysterious jackpots at the time being. At the moment of writing the article, the current value of Shopping Spree amounted to $4.06M.
What qualifies a player to be eligible to hit the big prize is the hefty maximum bet size of $1.25 per line ($11.25 per spin) with five diamond rings on any one of the nine paylines. Once that happens, we will have a bombastic headline in our breaking news section to celebrate the event.
Even though it sounds like something quite possible to happen…
…the statistics from our sister site reveal that from the moment the team started tracking this slot, it was triggered only ONCE. It happened on December 14th, 2011 at $1,244,529.
Although the game offers other smaller wins when some other symbols such as five necklaces adorned with a massive green emerald or five high-heeled shoes line up, still it's not much of a compromise for the biggest one of all, which is deeply asleep for quite some time.
As you can see…
… winning the big prize with a non-maximum denomination is impossible. But even if you are willing (and financially-capable) to give this Bovada creation a try in such a big style, there’s no warranty that you will manage to trigger it.
Measuring the Temperature and Other Methods to Boost Chances
As silly as it sounds, punters come up with the silliest solutions and approaches aiming to maximize the chances to trigger the gargantuan reward. One of the methods is to measure whether the slot is “hot or cold” which refers to the following:
- Checking the last time JP was scored
- The average time between two JPs
- Approximate payout size
To some players…
…this “thermometer” is the weapon that never fails, while others believe that no matter which tricks one applies, the machine is the one (and only) to win. Having in mind that besides all the speculations RNG has a crucial role as well, the only big truth is that it is still a matter of luck and coincidence.

Shopping Spree is a progressive Jackpot of Real Time Gaming which is going dead, as I think. Anyway, I couldn't play this game because the minimum bet was like $5 too high for me. And just for your information, the frequency of any Jackpot trigger in RTG is very very long....

I really like this slot, the look of it, the colors, but did not know you had to play that much to win the Jackpot. I have played it but not a lot and now reading this article I better make sure I read what bets need to be placed to win the Jackpots, I usually do so not sure why I did not know this, thanks for this article....

Another thing is, it has not been won FOR 8 YEARS, THAT IS NOT SOUNDING GOOD AT ALL. TOO LONG, NOT RIGHT.

Wow, gotta play 1.25$ per line , for all 11 lines, thats 11.25$ a spin, to be eligible to win the jackpot, but wow four million dollars that's huge, still almost 12 bucks a spin? Here in Canada BC, the lotto corp has a slot called Powerbucks online and in land casinos and it's 3 bucks a spin for a jackpot of similar size....

Here in Canada BC, the lotto corp has a slot called Powerbucks online and in land casinos and it's 3 bucks a spin for a jackpot of similar size. And that's CDN dollars too. This one is too rich for my blood.
