Registration
On Monday 14th Feb, BritishComforts headed to Britain Play. With this being her first visit, registration was required. After supplying her basic information, her address and player details she was then granted full access to the website. Our reviewer documented how simple the sign-up process was and she had no problems filling in the form.
Initial Deposit
Once a member, BritishComforts was offered the welcome offer of up to 500 spins on her first deposit. She declined the generous offer as it meant she would have to meet wagering requirements before being able to withdraw, something she didn’t want to do. To keep things simple, she decided to play with just her funds.
(Debit) Card payment, PayPal, Pay by Mobile and PaysafeCard were the deposit options waiting for our reviewer in the cashier. Once supplying her Visa Debit information, she noticed there were pre-set funding options of £10, £20, £50, £100 and £200 – none of these matched the £150 BritishComforts wanted to deposit. There were no options to insert a value either, so a deposit of £150 was made in two separate transactions on the 14th of Feb, one for £100 and the other for £50.
Gameplay
An email landed in our her inbox with a welcome offer and details on how to verify her account. It also documented how new accounts would be in a state of ‘pending’ for 48-hours while authentication checks were carried out. Before playing any games, BritishComforts decided to get the verification process out of the way, starting with her photo ID.
There are two steps to the upload process, the first requires a smartphone with a decent camera. Opening the camera on her iPhone12 Pro Max, she focused in on the QR code that appeared after pressing the ‘provide proof of photo ID’ link. This opened up a website on her phone with prompts on how to upload her ID. Once imaged of her driver’s license were supplied (front and back), a couple of times (shaky hands and blurred images), the next step was to provide a selfie. Once done, she headed closed down the phone and returned to the Britain Play website on her computer.
For step 2, she uploaded a recent utility bill and image of her registered bank card – the middle 8-digits were hidden for security purposes.
The Games
Our reviewers first port of call was the table games, where 100/1 roulette took her fancy. This is the only table game in existence to offer players 100:1 odds in every spin! There are options to lay bets on numbers 1 to 100, on five different symbols, odds/evens or black/red.
Next up was scratchcards and Hot Safari 50,000, the instant win game where players can unearth a roarsome prize of up to £50K in the African Plains. BritishComforts even tried her hand at online bingo where there are multiple variants – including unique games where bingo balls blast onto the screen for quicker gameplay, but alas, had no luck there either. There were options to play side games alongside bingo games, but there was a far greater selection of slots waiting in the lobby.
Fishin’ Pots of Gold, a collab between Microgaming and Gameburger Studios was one of the latest arrivals to Britain Play, so, BritishComforts decided to give it a try. It’s one of those video slots where landing cash values (or jackpots) in the same spin as the angling leprechaun nets you guaranteed wins.
The G.O.A.T by Blueprint Gaming was another new release, this time offering plenty of edge of your seat entertainment. Requesting a Withdrawal
Attempting to request a withdrawal on Feb 14th, the following message appeared on screen:
This meant no withdrawals could be made until that process was complete. On February 15th, the day after her deposit, BritishComforts was invited to play the Cash Drop game, a feature where depositing players have a 4 in 5 chance of winning a wager-free cash prize. Our reviewer won £2.50p and headed to the instant wins to try her luck. She had no luck unfortunately. With £77.58p in her balance, she headed to the withdrawal screen where she was once again met with the “account in review” message.
Wednesday 16th February, our tester only discovered her account had been verified internally and via the ID documents when she logged into her Britain Play account, she received no emails regarding this. Instantly she requested a withdrawal of her remaining balance of £77.58p on this day. A day later on Thursday 17th, the withdrawal was processed minus a £2.50p fee, resulting in £75.08p being returned to her original funding method – her Visa Debit card.
How Does Britain Play Stack Up?
An email from support would have been nice in relation to being verified, but other than that, Britain Play offer a great gaming environment. The registration process is swift; however, all new players will have to wait the full 48-hours while verification takes place before a withdrawal can be requested. A smartphone is required to complete personal verification, something not mentioned in the terms.
