Former executive chairman of blockchain sports betting operator, Spartos, from Cyprus and ex-Paddy Power Betfair B2B director, Dave Hammond, has found a new role and a setting. He has been appointed a chief operating officer of sports betting and software technology firm, SBTech.
Hammond will be in charge of the company's global operations and will be concentrating on supporting the expansion plans already set in existing markets as well as paving the way for entering new territories.
Industry Veteran at the Helm
Another of his responsibilities will be to oversee company's general state of technology as well as progress in research, development, operations and business analytics team.
During his two and a half year tenure with Paddy Power Betfair, he has served two different roles:
He was first the director of retail product and innovation from November 2015 to June 2016 and then going on to become the B2B director until July 2018.
After that, he took over as a Spartos' executive chairman. He also co-founded the gambling industry consultancy company BetConsultancy.com.
Hammond was very happy to be stepping in on new surroundings, stating:
“The company’s proven omni-channel full platform technology is widely used and is rapidly being adopted by numerous well-known sports betting, gaming, horse racing and lottery brands on an international scale. I look forward to accelerating this growth as the business and its innovative products continue to break new ground, furthering our partners’ reach and maximising their revenue.”
The Feelings Are Mutual
SBTech CEO, Richard Carter, welcomed Hammond to the team by saying the entire collective is delighted to have him on board. He went on to praise his wealth of knowledge and experience as well as "proven track record of implementing high growth strategies in a host of senior industry roles will add huge value to the company as we continue to grow in over 20 regulated markets we currently operate in."
Carter added that Dave will be working very closely with himself and senior management team on all areas of business in order to "not only meet but exceed customers' expectations in 2019 and beyond."
Hammond's longest-lasting spell was with Inspired Entertainment, where he held a range of senior roles from April 2006 until January 2015. His expertise was primarily that of virtual sports and gaming machines.
Right Timing
A bevvy of good news for SBTech preceded this appointment, as Bethard decided to extend their SBTech partnership for another five years. Prior to that, this summer, the company hit the home run with the nailing of the deal with US casino behemoth Golden Nugget with whom they've signed omni-channel cooperation.
SBTech also secured their entrance into French market and has penned another contract, this time with Valencia-based software company Red Rake Gaming.
