HammerFall, the legendary Swedish heavy metal band, is the main theme and inspiration behind Play’n GO’s latest slot video based on famous bands.
HammerFall has popularized the genre of music defined by the likes of Iron Maiden and Halloween in the 1980’s in their native Sweden.
The game, although inspired by the band, also features fantasy-inspired themes and elements in order to broaden its market appeal.
HammerFall’s mascot, Hector the Paladin, is the basis for the slot’s story. He helps players in a battle to victory and fortune, as the press release says, and all of this happens to the soundtrack of some of the HammerFall’s most famous, fast and heavy tunes.
A bunch of exciting highlights and features adorn the slot’s gameplay and overall experience - most of all the Songs Feature, which is activated by filling the charge meter and each taking the player to a different world in the game.
Every world is based, visually, on a HammerFall song, while there is also the opportunity to trigger the Hammer High Overcharge and experience all three song features in a row.
It’s worth noting that HammerFall has a 7x7 cascading grid on which wins are made by getting 5 or more symbols in a single cluster. The game has an RTP of 96.20%, high volatility and one fixed payline because it pays out according to clusters.
Play’n GO’s series of music slots was launched in 2018 and since then the developer has partnered with some of the most renowned and esteemed acts in the world of rock and metal, creating games such as Saxon , Testament and Twisted Sister.
The point of each game is to capture the essence and philosophy of every band, both in the visuals, the sounds as well as bonus features and gameplay experience.
Johan Tornqvist, CEO of the company, said about the release:
“Our music slots are a representation of ourselves and the band’s they feature. We don’t want to slap a few songs onto an average slot and call it a day; that’s not the way we work. We work with the bands to capture their persona and make sure that the gameplay matches their style and their music, giving a well-rounded gaming experience to players, and it’s working.”
