Back Habanero Acquires Online License to Supply Romanian Operators

A Malta Gaming Authority-regulated and licensed supplier of casino games for online and land-based gaming sector, Habanero Systems Ltd. has been granted another accreditation by the national regulator or Romania.

The studio’s games and RNG are now certified in 16 markets, covering most of Europe as well as the emerging Colombian market. By reaching a new milestone in the southeastern European country, Habanero will be able to supply Romanian-based operators with its immersive content offering.

Accreditation for Recognized Quality

As a proven iGaming regulator with demonstrated history of accreditations, the National Gambling Office (ONJN) will allow the games studio with offices in various countries to further expand its commercial footprint within the territory.

Online gambling in the Romanian market has been regulated since 2016. Many iGaming providers have applied for the license to launch in the sector from that time onwards, including iSoftBet, ORYX, Pariplay, Microgaming and others. There are over 20 fully equipped casinos spread throughout the country, while the number of online operators is also on the rise.

As soon as the compliance with the Romanian gambling regulations is complete, Habanero will be able to launch 69+ newly-licensed games. The company’s portfolio is highly regarded across Europe and Colombia, thanks to a host of player favorites such as Wizards Want War!, Happiest Christmas Tree, 5 Lucky Lions and Egyptian Dreams Deluxe (see preview below).

Habanero’s latest certification efforts follow the recent acquisition of MGA license, acquired exactly one month earlier to help the provider pave new ways for upcoming partnerships. Among the latest distribution partners are Blox in Italy, Super Casino, EGT Digital, BGame Group’s BBet, Rush Street Interactive, Löwen Play in Germany and so forth.

Commenting on the milestone accreditation, Arcangelo Lonoce, European head of business development at Habanero, stated:

“We are thrilled that the team’s consistent diligence has been recognized by the regulatory body in Romania, a market which we believe to be one of the most interesting and dynamic in Europe.”

Lonoce added:

“The news will help us further extend our ever-growing customer reach within the region, following on from a series of high-profile commercial agreements with a succession of Southern Europe’s foremost operators.”

A Path to Glory

Back in April 2020, the Malta-based software studio became available in Spain for the first time. Since then, Habanero has been continuously making additional steps towards extending its footprint in the European market. The company’s further agreements included a content distribution with GrooveGaming, signed on 17 June, 2020.

Thanks to a roster of more than 4000+ titles from some of the industry’s top-ranking software brands, GrooveGaming’s plug-and-play aggregation platform serves as a springboard for up-and-coming developers who look to expand their presence on the global iGaming market, such as Habanero Systems Ltd.

Under the terms of this agreement, the platform provider was set to integrate Habanero’s entire collection of releases, involving more than 118+ slots, ranging from classics such as Knockout Football Rush and London Hunter to the widely famous series Lucky Fortune Cat and other similar titles. The deal also encompasses a selection of video poker and table games.
