German Independent Slots Developer is Saving Natural Habitat of Closest Primates to Humans

The up-and-coming German-based online game developer, GAMOMAT, has decided to raise the awareness of global climate change this month. The company is extending its Gaming for the Climate initiative by adding the revenue from Monkey Mania to donations for Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) Deutschland e.V.

By sending an uplifting message of support and caring to protect the Mawas forest in Borneo, the natural habitat of human’s closest relatives next to chimpanzees, the provider hopes that others will follow this example and join the initiative.

Orangutans are Critically Endangered

All three species of Orangutan living in Indonesia and Malaysia are classified as critically endangered. Due to multiple threats from habitat loss, poaching, and illegal trade, the Orangutan population has experienced a sharp decline in the 21^st century.

To prevent any further deterioration of rain forests in Borneo, GAMOMAT has made a symbolic 12,000 EUR donation.

As explained, these funds will be used to build dams, replant peatland areas with native trees and fund patrols to protect the area from fire and illegal activities. GAMOMAT has also promised further support to BOS (Borneo Orangutan Survival) through a portion of revenue generated from the game Monkey Mania each month over the coming year.

For those of you not familiar with Monkey Mania,  it joined the roster in 2021 with a maximum win factor of 1,000x the stake. The game takes players on an adventure beneath the canopy with cute animals, including a cuddly Lion cub.
