Appointed as new Sales Executives, Sebastian Fernandez and Luana Monje are expected to drive the company’s growth while mainly focusing on South/Central American markets.
According to Brian Koh, Chief Commercial Officer at Continent 8 Technologies, Sebastian and Luana are joining the company “at a pivotal time for the LatAm gambling market”. A growing number of providers and operators is exploring the possibility of setting foot in this part of the world. That’s precisely where Continent 8 steps in, ensuring they have the best infrastructure and the highest possible level of security.
Deepening LatAm Footprint
Having joined Continent 8 Technologies, Sebastian Fernandez and Luana Monje will be in charge of nurturing relationships with the existing clients from LatAm. Sebastian will be situated in Argentina, whereas Luana, who’s in Brazil, will provide deeper insights into the local market. As a small reminder, Brazil has recently passed legislation to legalize online sports betting and casinos, so Luana’s appointment comes in perfect timing.
Bringing over a decade of IT experience to the newly-assigned role, Sebastian Fernandez, Sales Executive at Continent 8 Technologies, commented:

Several Experts Welcomed in January
During the previous month, Dave Phillips, former Google executive, joined the leadership team as the new VP of Network. His main duties will be to oversee operations in more than 100 locations worldwide.
Also, the corporation made a significant expansion of its global sales team, by welcoming Andrew Mudge as Regional Sales Director. Among numerous assets he brings is knowledge of the fast-expanding market of the United States, which represents another important territory for Continent 8.
A couple of days later, Amazon Web Services (AWS) specialist, Matteo Gabrielli, was appointed as Senior Technical Solutions Architect. Previously in charge of providing colleagues with technical guidance to help them innovate and build cloud solutions on AWS, he will now be in charge of supporting and maintaining relationships with its customers to ensure they can access the provider’s top-performing solutions.
Conquering Vermont
The current month is undoubtedly the milestone one for US expansion, as the company went live in Vermont. With a data center situated in the Burlington region, Continent 8 Technologies has the exclusive opportunity to support the nation’s largest online sports betting platforms including DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics.
Legalized in June 2023, online sports betting is expected to generate approximately $7m. The first three operators to receive licenses on behalf of the Vermont Department of Liquor and Lottery opened their virtual doors on January 11, 2024.
