Back Continent 8 Technologies Grows US Presence with New Data Center in West Virginia

Continuing to cement its position in the fast-expanding iGaming market of the United States, Continent 8 Technologies opens a new site in West Virginia. Its ground-breaking solutions are found to be tailored for the online sports betting and iGaming verticals, which was the reason the corporation decided to open another strategic data center in West Virginia.

Holding the reputation of a leading infrastructure provider in North America for the online gambling industry, Continent 8 is live with over 20 of the most popular operators serving players in this US state. Over 85% of operators on the 2023 EGR US Power Rankings rely on its top-performing portfolio of managed hosting and connectivity solutions.

Unrivalled Service and Reputation

Compliant with the rigorous requirements imposed by the local regulator, Continent 8 Technologies’ suite of services includes managed hosting, managed network, and cybersecurity solutions for operators and suppliers.

Already live across a large number of states all over the United States, its powerful Public Cloud solution was accredited by a gambling regulator in West Virginia. Developed as a flexible, usage-based model, this solution allows interested parties to enter the market smoothly, ensuring full compliance with the local requirements.

Michael Tobin, Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Continent 8 Technologies, commented on the newest site launch:

“We are thrilled to have added a second site, allowing us to expand our offering to include disaster recovery, as well as our approved Public Cloud solution in our original site, further establishing Continent 8 as the leading infrastructure provider in the North American market.”

As a small reminder, Continent 8 went live in West Virginia for the first time in 2018 in South Charleston, just a couple of months before online sports betting launched in August later that year.

Done via a partnership with Seneca Rocks Regional Development Authority, the newest site is located in Petersburg, West Virginia. Its suite of solutions is now reinforced with true disaster recovery and enhanced business continuity. Both sites are PCI DSS compliant, ensuring the highest level of security with payment transactions.

Continuous Expansion US-Wide

Eager to maintain its leading position in one of the most significant iGaming markets, Continent 8 is already live in 30 US states. The company has significant investment plans to additionally deepen its multi-site footprint across numerous states, mainly by opening new strategic centers, like in West Virginia.

Earlier in February, the corporation opened a new center in Vermont, in the Burlington region. Thanks to this, it got the opportunity to support the nation’s largest online sports betting platforms including DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics.

2023 was marked with multiple launches in the United States, namely Ohio, North Carolina, Kentucky, Massachusetts, and a couple of more states.

New Team Members Welcomed Recently

As a rapidly growing company, Continent 8 is always eager to welcome experienced individuals to versatile sectors. Sebastian Fernandez and Luana Monje are two experts appointed recently, both assigned to drive the company’s growth in South and Central American markets.

Before that, Dave Phillips, a former Google executive, joined the leadership team as the new VP of Network while Andrew Mudge was welcomed as Regional Sales Director. Matteo Gabrielli was appointed as Senior Technical Solutions Architect.
