Back Continent 8 Technologies Selected by ODDSworks to Perform Compliance Audit

Continent 8 Technologies, an innovative and customer-centric provider of infrastructure and cybersecurity services announces another milestone achievement for the company. The award-winning corporation was selected by ODDSworks to conduct a comprehensive audit and ensure the provider remains compliant with licensing requirements in Pennsylvania.

A month and a half earlier celebrated another significant achievement, as it opened the doors of the Curacao data center. This represents a huge step not only for the company, but for operators and providers in general, as it will help them navigate through the recently overhauled regulatory framework.

Cybersecurity is of Utmost Importance

As a part of the process of meeting the requirements to enter the iGaming market in Pennsylvania, ODDSworks tasked Continent 8 Technologies to undertake a regulatory security compliance audit and vulnerability assessment penetration test (VAPT).

Patrick Gardner, Managing Partner at C8 Secure, a Continent 8 company pointed out that:

“Having cybersecurity provisions in place is not only a must when it comes to protecting the organization, but also when it comes to compliance. Pennsylvania is setting the standard when it comes to protecting the iGaming market.”

He also added that the fact that the regulatory landscape and requirements differ from one jurisdiction to another makes it more challenging for service and content suppliers to remain compliant. As he noted, the company has the necessary tools to assist them not only with Pennsylvania’s landscape, but with regulatory requirements United States-wide.

Completed in less than eight weeks, on time and under budget, the audit also identified certain vulnerabilities that were outside the scope of work. The audit was undertaken by Continent 8’s dedicated cybersecurity division, C8 Secure. Following the comprehensive review, PGCB approved both the audit and VAPT reports.

Ensuring the Highest Security Standards

Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) is widely known as the regulator with the most rigorous requirements in the United States when it comes to cybersecurity.

Suppliers and operators interested in obtaining the license from this authority need to meet a certain set of standards, among which the procurement and implementation of IDS/IPS solutions along with anti-virus, malware and ransomware for all virtual machines.

Also, they need to ensure that virtual machines are performing online one function, whereas the redundant ones need to run under a separate hypervisor.

On top of these, companies are required to implement vulnerability scanning along with a log management solution. The latter one aims to ensure that audit logs of user activities, exceptions, and information security events are stored and available to assist in investigations and access control monitoring.

Deepening US Footprint

Being a PGCB licensee, ODDSworks was required to undertake and submit for approval a full audit of its cybersecurity provisions, for which Continent 8, which recently opened a data center in Curacao, was selected. Worth noting is that the supplier is already active in other US states, namely New Jersey and Michigan.

Commenting on the approved audits and reports, which ensured that the company is compliant with the regulator’s requirements, Steven De Mar, Executive VP at ODDSworks, said:

“We already knew that Continent 8 was at the top of its game having used its hosting solutions in other US states, but its cybersecurity audit for us shows that it really does set the standard for others to follow.”

ODDSworks’ portfolio is home to a variety of genres, encompassing slots, video poker, table games, and scratch-off games. Jade Rabbit Studio, Reflex Gaming, and 2by2 gaming are some of the many suppliers the company has so far teamed up with.
