Two Caribbean interest groups are supporting Antigua and Barbuda in its decade-long struggle with the World Trade Organisation and the United States with regard to settle with Antiguans over its discriminatory approach to banning online gambling.
The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED) have urged the United States to accept the decision of a World Trade Organisation (WTO) dispute with Antigua and Barbuda where islanders faced WTO dispute panels and won.
Caricom and Coted point out that the US has not honored WTO decisions and the lack of finalization affects the credibility of the WTO dispute settlement mechanism, according to a statement.
