Coming in 2012
A report arrived this week from the cash-strapped government of Hungary’s parliamentary committee that it is to increase the tax on online gambling and gambling in general from 2012
According to National Economy Ministry György Matolcsy, they are preparing the concept for taxing online gambling; he added that levying the tax will be quite a challenge in technical terms, but he did not include any info on the rate itself.
In addition, Matolcsy confirmed reports that the government has already presented a bill to the parliament, which is to raise the gambling tax on general gaming machines from November 1, 2011.
