Indigo Magic Slots
Indigo Magic is a small European game development studio tied to the bigger Bragg conglomerate. The latter works on all fields of iGaming, from running several studios to having their own white label platform. Whilst this studio might be a small cog in the bigger machine, it still has its own brand and identity.
Ever since being established in 2022, the company has concentrated on creating a strong selection of modern mobile slots. On top of this, they have made forays into establishing a nice selection of instant win and crash games.
Thanks to the parent company there is no shortage of licenses, certificates, nor partner casinos. These games should be available worldwide in most online casinos.
Themes, Graphics and Audio
The first bit of Indigo Magic slots that we are going to take a look at is the general setup of themes, graphics, and sound effects. These are something that don’t really make or break the game, but can still affect the entertainment provided considerably.
This studio isn’t clearly making their games all about the theme, yet they definitely put in enough entertainment to make everything look good and play out well.
Overall, if we look at games like Down the Chimney with its seasonal Christmas theme, Bankers & Cash or Carts & Cash with the familiar themes of riches and gems, Seven Suns with a throwback to classics, or Big Roar, Bad Bass, and Sea of Plenty with their nature setting, it’s pretty clear to see that the studio uses quite standard or classic setups for the themes in their games.
The graphics look detailed and beautiful, and there is no recycling of symbols whatsoever. Every time you open up a new slot you are met with a new set of symbols, background graphics, and the occasional animation. Sound effects and music is even more impressive, always fitting the theme and always offering enough variety to make the experience feel fresh.
Paylines, Wins and RTP
When it comes to different ways of calculating wins, it seems that Indigo Magic has settled on two different methods. First one is the familiar paylines, and the second one is the now rather common method of ways to win.
On the latter method, the company seems to opt for custom designs. For example, the already mentioned Down the Chimney uses five reels, but with the three middle reels only having three symbol positions, whereas the first and fight reel have four positions, which results in 432 ways for winning combinations to connect. Phoenix Fury on the other hand uses the normal 5x3 grid, with 243 ways to connect wins. Golden Avalanche in turn uses 1024 ways to win.
So far the only slot to stand out from this default setting is 7 Fates, which uses a pay anywhere method to calculate wins. A 5 x 5 grid is used, with a payout requiring a minimum of seven matching symbols anywhere on the reels.
Paylines start from just five, and depending on the slot can go as high as 50 as is found in Super Sake. The RTPs across the board on these slots tend to hover around the magical mark of 96%, but do occasionally drop as low as 94%. This seems a rare case where the company deviates from the standards of the online casino industry.
Most of the games stick to high variance, with a heavy emphasis on medium variance games. This too is the current trend with online slots, and as usual it is accompanied with high top wins. Most often we see maximum wins from a single round somewhere around 5000 times the bet, and lowest is one thousand times the bet. Highest win can be found in Phoenix Fury, reaching almost 17 000 times the set bet. With the help of multipliers.
Special Features
Common characteristics and the norms of gameplay covered, it’s time to check out what sort of special features slots from Indigo Magic offer. It seems to be usual for every slot to have two to three features, and there doesn’t seem to be a single game without any bonus methods. Bonus buy is also occasionally available, allowing you to skip into the features for a one time payment. Whether that is worth it is entirely up to the player.
The features do change a lot, and there isn’t any single format that is used across all titles. Not counting wilds and scatters of course. For example, Mystical Forest comes with bonus spins that have a golden position matching the number of scatters triggering the feature. Symbols that land in these positions are collected, and there is a mystery symbol that upgrades the collects.
Alpha Gold comes with coin symbols which can be collected. First you need to land six of these to trigger the re-spin feature, giving you three spins which reset every time a coin lands. Should all positions be filled with coins, or the spins run out, the Alpha Super Bonus is triggered, replacing all coin values with the highest coin value. There’s also a chance of collecting all coins via the Midas Collection, even if less than six coins are on the reels. In addition to this, there are Golden Bonus Spins, with multipliers up to 10x.
Diamond Desire comes with a random feature adding two diamonds on the reels, functioning as scatters and wilds, and being locked in place. With three or more diamonds you enter the Sticky Diamond bonus spins. The wilds stick to the reels, with each new one awarding an extra spin.
Treat Yo’ Elf is another Christmas slot, coming with stacked wilds on the reels. Any wild win will trigger bonus spins, with a special Scatter Repeat Pay credited every time a scatter lands. There are two positions for Scatter Gift symbols, and if both arrive on the reels simultaneously a pay is awarded.
Book of Blackeye’s Bounty slot offers expanded reels during bonus spins, with the paylines also increasing to fifty. A special Cursed Reels feature can activate on any paid round, choosing a symbol at random and expanding it across the reels. This symbol then pays like a scatter.
As you can see, there is plenty of variation from one title to the next. Bonus spins are a given, but they always come with a unique modifier, ranging from expanding symbols to multipliers, respins, and many other options. If you’re looking for special features to enjoy, these games certainly give you a run for your money.
Crash Games and Other Casino Games
Crash games have become popular in recent years, and most game producers have tried their hand in this category. Even the most productive big companies only have a dozen or two titles that fit into this category, whereas their slots can count in the hundreds if not thousands. In that sense Indigo Magic ranks pretty well with their selection of games.
Make note though that most of these games are still in development at the time of writing.
Golfing Glory is one of the first crash games from the company. It offers the basics of crash gaming. Simply set your bet, let the ball fly, and hope to cash out before the growing distance multiplier crashes to the ground.
Mighty Marlin and Mighty Marlin Super are two games that fall into the category of other games. Rather than being a slot or a crash game, it’s an instant win game. The goal here is to catch marlin. Simply cast the rod and reel it in. If you catch any fish at all you’re guaranteed a win. And these can go as high as 2000 times the bet. There is also a rather interesting feature where you can buy spins in bulk, and this then comes with a discount. This in turn effectively means that the RTP becomes higher.
Interpretation
Compared to the other slot studios in the Bragg family, Indigo magic stands out in several fields. They are definitely aiming for a more modern experience, especially aimed at mobile players. The games offer very high quality across the board. Aesthetic factors like graphics and sound effects don’t steal the spotlight, but are definitely an entertaining factor on their own.
The company seems to be experimenting with more custom or adventurous games, though we are not sure if this will extend going beyond ways to win and paylines into territory like Megaways, though clusterpay mechanics in future games wouldn’t surprise us. We do expect more crash games and similar instant win experiences.
All in all, the games are widely available, often accompanied by other great slots and casino games, and tend to even come with all sorts of bonuses and promotions. Take a look at our list of suggested casinos and choose one that offers you the best deal! And then just get spinning on those reels!
