Monkey Money is a five reel slot which appears to be placed on a canvas graphic marked out with bamboo canes. You can see a cute monkey beneath the reels and an idyllic sunset scene in the background.

There’s a good range of bespoke and traditional icons on the reels too. These include palm trees, cherries, coconuts, plums, oranges, coins, 7’s, bananas and monkeys.

A jolly tune plays as you spin the reels whilst each win is met with a traditional bell sound. We’re not completely convinced by these sound effects but at least they are in keeping with the slots happy theme.

Betting Options and More Functions

You are able to change your bets at any time but it’s worth bearing in mind that changing whilst the monkey is holding coconuts will cause him to drop them. Therefore it’s far better to choose a bet before starting play, or when his hands are empty if you do not want to forfeit the bonus game.

Monkey Money Slot Features

The monkey stands eagerly beneath the reels awaiting falling coconuts. When coconut icons appear on the fifth reel they fall and are caught by the monkey. Once he has caught three coconuts the bonus round begins.

During the bonus round you are faced with four palm trees which contain two coconuts each. You choose a coconut with the aim of avoiding one which is rotten; if your choice is good you get to select again until the falling coconut doesn’t crack open to reveal a prize. Each prize is added up before reloading the regular game reels.

Our Take on Monkey Money

A combination of cute characters, various betting options and a clever interactive bonus round make Monkey Money an enjoyable game to play. We would have welcomed added features such as wilds and multipliers but despite this feel it’s a decent traditional slot.
