The holiday season brings all kinds of joys, but nothing beats the atmosphere just before Christmas. The smell of pumpkin pies and hot chocolate is present just about everywhere you go. 

Capturing that holiday spirit is something every Christmas themed game has tried to do…

… but few actually accomplished. Jazzy Christmas is one of those few! 

With that said, we have to say that Genesis Gaming has added their own spin to the whole idea – one that fits the mood of the theme like a glove. 

It has to do with jazz, saxophones and sharp looking shades. 

A Christmas Theme That Keeps On Giving 

All things considered, this is no ordinary Christmas inspired theme. Chances are that the sax playing Santa is all the hint you’ll ever need to figure that one out. Even so, the whole composition falls together so well! 

The foreground depicts what appears to be a stage in some hole-in-the-wall Jazz joint. Right next to it, you’ll see the sharp dressed Santa rocking on his sax. All of that combined with the set of bright neon lights…

…make it somewhat difficult to imagine the whole set taking place on the South Pole. Yet if you look beyond the flashy lights and the stage, you’ll spot a lot of snow. 

As weird as it sounds, all of these elements work well together. Nothing feels out of place and you’re surrounded by that holiday spirit. 

Genesis Gaming is notorious for creating high-quality symbols in all of their games. Not only do they perfectly nail the theme for each game, but they go above and beyond. 

That said, we are treated with some rather sweet looking icons in this title! 

Lowest paying symbols come in form of letters enclosed in Christmas light bulbs. Even those look stunning! Higher paying ones feature a myriad of Christmas inspired designs. You have your candy canes, Christmas bells, and candied apples. 

Wild and scatter symbol designs are quite clever! 

A neon wreath depicts the former, while a nicely wrapped present is used for the latter. 

Betting Options and Functions 

Under the flashy holiday-inspired exterior hides a proven base game. Here are the basics of betting options and functions for this title: 

- 10,000,000 credits starting balance 

- Up to 100 paylines 

- Bet value can be set anywhere from 0.01 credits to 2.00 credits 

- Max total bet of 200 credits 

- RTP value of 97.086%

As you can probably tell, the betting options don’t allow for too much risk. That is great for the ‘slow and steady’ type of players who enjoy the ride more than the destination itself. 

This particular software provider has a thing for universal UI design. In all honesty, that is one of their best traits. UI experience in Jazzy Christmas is super crisp…

… easy to navigate and attributes to a very positive player experience. Each little icon’s design clearly depicts its meaning so there is absolutely no confusion. 

Most importantly, the game runs very smoothly no matter what is going on the screen. There is no lag during spinning, so if you’re quick enough, you can nail some of those scatters as they come!

Special Features 

This game’s special feature is the Holiday Jammin’ Respin. To triggers this, you need to stack the Santa symbols in the first reel. Once you do that, reels 2 to 5 will re-spin two times. The important part is that Santa symbols and Wilds will stick during these re-spins. 

This in-game mechanic, although pretty simple, adds that little extra something to the already great base game. 

Our Take: 

If you’re a fan of Christmas-themed games, you will probably love this game as much as we do. If you’re not, you’ll still recognize the rock-solid foundation that lies below all that flashy design. 

From a purely technical standpoint, the game runs smooth and feels stable. Whether or not the special features could have been a bit more engaging is up for discussion. As far as we’re concerned, this title brings much-needed entertainment value to the table.
