Swedish Doom Metal band Candlemass is back as the heavy metal-lovers at Play'n Go decided to create the follow-up to their original House of Doom.

This time, though, the fans are going to enjoy not one but three hit songs from this popular epic doom metal band in a high-volatile online game boasting 3 different game zones with Wilds, Free Spins, Respins, Multipliers, and, more importantly...

...a different song playing in the background!

Theme and Symbols

The second installment features the same haunted mansion as the previous online release, only this time, the place becomes even eerier, taking you down to its scary Crypt hiding more secrets and chambers.

Expectedly, the game features a dark, gothic design just like its predecessor, so if you like the one before, you will surely enjoy this release as well.

The translucent grid is set against a pair of statues and pillars in front of the Crypt entrance, which you will enter once you trigger the features and face a chamber sparsely lit by a few candles. 

You will see the recognizable symbols on the reels, including blood-red playing card symbols from 10 to A, daggers, flowers, candles, and a skull, while...

...the four female ritual performers:Fire Mistress (the red woman), Metal Priestess (the blue woman), Queen of the Damned (the green woman), and Spirit of Unity (the red/blue/ green woman) represent four Wilds of the game!

Lastly, you will enjoy authentic heavy metal playing in the background, complementing the overall atmosphere perfectly!

Betting Options and Other Functions

The grid used for the game is a 5-reel 3-row layout with 20 fixed bet ways.

As little as 0.2$ is required to spin the reels, and the bets go all the way up to 100$ per spin, making this eerie online release suitable for both low snd high-risk punters!

If you dare to pass the Spirit Gate that activates randomly during the base game, you will trigger the Spirit Gate feature and be awarded a Re-spin and a special modifier.

The feature is triggered when the spirit gate appears across the reels, and then one of the Wilds lands in its place and expands to cover the whole reel. Depending on which Wild symbol landed, you will get the following modifiers:

• Queen of the Damned – makes all reels turn into Spirit Gates that will award extra re-spins and more chances for additional expanding Wilds.
• Fire Mistress – if you get a respin after a Wild symbol lands on the Spirit Gate, you will get your winning combo multiplied by a random multiplier from x2 to x10!
• Metal Priestess – upgrades all ritual relic symbols into the highest-paying symbols during the re-spin.

Now, land the special Crypt Scatter symbols on reels 1, 3, and 5, and you will trigger the Free Spins feature!

When this occurs, you will be awarded a modifier depending on the current zone you are in.

During these special rounds, you can have more than one Spirit Gate activated on any spin. Plus, every Scatter that lands in an active Spirit Gate will be upgraded to a Flaming Crypt scatter!

Here's the kicker!

Land at least three Flaming Crypt Scatters, and you will get 8 Crypt Spins.

When that happens, you will get the fourth Spirit of Unity Wild symbol active, and should it lands in the Spirit Gate, you get a re-spin, and all 3 Spirit Gate features will become active!

Not bad at all!

Verdict

Although the original online release did not come with great success, the Play'n Go software developer has opted for creating the second installment, which was a good call.

House of Doom 2: The Crypt is an exciting online game with high-quality visuals, an abundance of features, and a maximum potential win of 6000x that will appeal to all types of punters, although the theme and sounds are suitable for a certain type of taste.
