The carnival is on and apparently, the only source of food is an assortment of chilis and vegetables. Off to a good start, just fire up the barbeque and let’s get the reels rolling.
BetSoft has adopted a mix of 3D and cartoons as the style, and for some reason, the chilis have eyes, mouths, and other personal features.
I assume this is so that the game is more fun? It DOES deliver a lot of action from the get-go, so check out the details below:
Theme
There are a few different types of chilis on the screen, though most of them look suspiciously like normal peppers. Some tomatoes and other vegetables also feature in the game. The background setting is one of an idyllic Mexican village, where the fiesta is apparently held. Unfortunately, there are not really animations to speak of. The music and sound effects could have used a bit more tempo and action as well.
Betting Options and Functions
The game uses the cluster pay system, which means that there is no need for paylines. The bet is selected through the total selector indicator, which goes all the way from 0.50 to 50 coins per spin. The reels come in the standard five times three format.
The wins are a bit hard to calculate at first, but you soon get used to it. For every three symbols you get a win and for each symbol a certain amount of coins. The tops prize is 12 times the bet per symbol, and the smallest one is merely twice the bet. The real money comes into play via the special features!
Features
The pinata is the wild symbol, and it comes with some wild wins. It pays in clusters, and when the whole screen is full you can rake in up to 50 000 times the bet. This does require another feature to kick in though, which is the Mule Trail. The pinata also increases win multiplier with one for each instance that is on the reels.
Landing a minimum of three mules and a maximum of fifteen will launch between five and 26 free spins. You cannot retrigger the spins during the feature.
Instead:
Each mule landed adds to the count of mules, eventually triggering extra features. The more mules the more reels and symbol positions are added to the game. This works up to a maximum of eight times eight reel set up, which is how you can land up to 64 wilds.
Our Take
Chilipop is a bit too full of chances for my taste. However…
…if you do manage to get the free spins and the extra reels and symbol positions that come with it, as well as land all those wilds, you are surely going to cash in an insane number of coins.
Take your chances with bonus money or try the game for free here. The slot won't be a classic for all ages, but it does offer a bit of entertainment!
