Blue Gem Gaming
Who is Blue Gem Gaming?
Shady, that's who. It was a company meant to cover up a scam involving rigged games. The parent company behind Sheriff Gaming, Bubble Group, rebranded under the name of Blue Gem Gaming. To tell the whole story we have to go back a bit.
In 2013, Sheriff Gaming’s Alderney Class 2 gambling license was suspended and eventually revoked following the discovery that its progressive slots were found to be rigged not to pay out unless you were the friends and family of the founders, Michel and Maurice Gregoire and Stijn Flapper. This also led to the 2015 seizure of its assets by Dutch authorities.
In an attempt to escape the negative reputation and maintain its property, Bubble Group created Blue Gem Gaming with plans to transfer ownership of everything to the newly formed company. Dutch courts quickly intervened to shut it down and rule that the assets, which included slot games, could not be transferred and would remain government property.
You won’t find any games or casinos powered by Blue Gem Gaming these days but you will find several original Sheriff Gaming titles, such as 'The Amsterdam Masterplan', available online for real money play. How you ask? Novomatic’s Greentube formed a subsidiary known as StakeLogic in 2014 and eventually purchased Sheriff’s games from Dutch authorities. Novomatic and all subsidiaries are 100% legit and are in no way associated with the Bubble Group.
