Bubble Group principals Michel and Maurice Gregoire and Stijn Flapper, associated with Sheriff Gaming, made headlines in the 2013 when the software company was shut down and headed for Dutch tax court as recently as August 2015.
The court determined that Euro 13.5 million in taxes were owned based on the Euro 46.7 million in revenue earned by Bubble Group enterprises from 2008 to 2013.
A Sheriff Gaming programmer testified that the company’s online jackpots were programmed not to payout.
All of Sheriff's assets, which included its software, were sold off by Dutch officials to buyers including Novomatic, a company that allegedly employed some of Sheriff’s employees including Flapper's wife Ellen. Dutch Trade Tribunal intervention put a stop to an attempt to transfer Bubble Group assets to the then newly created Blue Gem Gaming group.
To date, Michel and Maurice Gregoire and Stijn Flapper have not yet faced the list of charges, including illegal online gambling, in court.

Clearly if their slots was programmed not to pay out jackpots. Then many players should be allowed compensation. I remember playing lot of their slots and also several slots I liked where I lost loads on as well. I will try bring this in forums and see what people say as I am thinking contacting the casinos I have played these slots at Sherif gaming was also taked over by Blue Gem gaming which was then seized. This is really confusing. I wonder if Net Entertainment and other slots software has been checked proper through. I have a suspect in playtech as I have been chasing jackpots on some of their slots and jackpot figures changes very strangely. So higher jackpot amounts is on the lower amount bets and then lower jackpots on highest bets. Makes no sense!!!

Too bad this place felt compelled to rig the software to not give out proper payouts. As much as I hate to say it, regulation is important for the industry. Obviously, this place was one of many not capable of policing themselves.

Trust is the essential ingredient that sustains the business of online gaming without trust online gaming companies can't build their business through a widely known reputation for quickly paying winnings and running a fair gaming system. When a bad apple like the companies cited in this article violate player trust by manipulating software to the advantage of the casino or owners of the gaming establishment the credibility of the entire online gaming venture is undermined.
