Casino d'Agon-Coutainville

Agon-Coutainville is a small French commune in the department of Manche and in the region of Lower Normandy. This resort town is ideal for when you want to escape to somewhere perhaps more quaint than populated. There’s a few things to do here besides unwind and get away on holiday. Check out some of the small castles in the area like the Flague, Valletta, les Pins and Chritmas-Chesnaie. Local events to look for include the Horse Festival, since 2010. Of course, a prominent feature of the town is the casino, so be sure to head over for an afternoon or evening session of gambling.

Guests are invited to enjoy drinks in the Norman Bar.

Dining

Dine in the Red Toque enjoying a wide menu, and open from 7 pm until 11 pm, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 7 pm to midnight on Saturdays, and noon to 2 pm and 7 pm to 11 pm on Sundays. Meals here come with tokens which can be redeemed on the casino floor. You can always opt to tour around town, finding quaint little eateries dishing up authentic regional and fine-dining French cuisine. Ask hotel or casino staff to point you in the direction of places popular with locals and tourists.

Attractions/NightLife

Enjoy drinks in the casino’s Lounge Bar or hit one of the pubs in town like the Les Paillottes or the L’Arrivee des Pecheurs. Perhaps walk about choosing your own watering hole where you can rub shoulders with the locals. Head to the beach Notre-Dame-des-Flots for some sunning, swimming or boating. For religious sites there’s the Church of St Evroult Agon and for architecture try the Manoir de Coutainville (dating back to the 15th century) or the Chateau d’Agnon (going back to the 17th century). Also be sure to check out some of the small local castles like the Flague, Valletta, les Pins and Christmas-Chesnaie. There’s also the memorial to poet Fernand Lechanteur. For local festivals, there’s the Horse Festival, which began in 2010.
