Wembley Opener

As Chelsea did the double last season, it means they will face Premier League runners-up Manchester United in the Community Shield.

Both teams will be aiming for victory in this traditional curtain raiser. Who will be a Wembley winner?

Hey Lips,

You don't sound dumb at all.  I totally understand where you are coming from.  I must admit to being totally confused by all the NBL, NBA, MLB and many other acronyms that I'm not too sure of.

This one would be football.  Chelsea finished top of the premier league last season and they won the FA (Football Association) Cup and they play Manchester United because they came 2nd in the premier league.  The Community Shield (formerly known as the Charity Shield) is the opening match of the season and generally will be the FA Cup winners against the winners of the Premier League but as Chelsea won both, they can't play themselves so Man United come in as their opponents for being 2nd in the league.

The Charity Shield plays a big role for the Football Association to raise funds for different charities throughout England.

I hope that helps and maybe you can help me with all these US acronyms.

Man United   to win 19/10 / +190.00

Draw  11/5 / +220.00

Chelsea to win  27/20 / +135.00

Chelsea are favourites (from these odds) but this is the first match and anything could happen.  The bold figure is your return on $100 bet.

I would hate for you to lose your money.

Maybe you should pick a horse race, pick a horse that you like the name of and have a small bet on it.

Wagerchief..the new one (I posted on that topic).  I can't seem to get into anything that has a live feed though but I'm sure it should be fixed today.

Despite Chelsea being favourite, Manchester United were glorious with a 3 - 1 victory over Chelsea.

I have to say, I'm not surprised.
