Eintracht Frankfurt vs Strasbourg (UEFA Europa League Playoffs)

Eintracht Frankfurt had a great run in the Europa League last season, but this time they are on the brink of elimination after having lost the first leg 1-0 at Strasbourg. However, the French team were quite lucky to win that game given that they only had one shot on target. Frankfurt also lost in the Bundesliga at RB Leipzig at the weekend, but the Europa League match is crucial for them and I believe they are the better side. 

I would bet on Eintracht Frankfurt to qualify, odds are 1.71at NetBet.

Roger Federer vs Grigor Dimitrov (US Open)

Tonight's quarter-final match has a clear favourite: Roger Federer. The Swiss had a sluggish start to the tournament, dropping a set in each of the first two rounds, but in the following two matches he really hammered his opponents and won in easy straight sets. Dimitrov had a terrible season so far but now he seems to have regained some confidence. He did well to defeat De Minaur in the fourth round, but he can also count himself lucky after Coric retired in the second round. 

I think Federer will win in straight sets, but we can get better odds if we bet on his victory plus Under 32.5 games in the match, combined odds would be 2.07 at NetBet. 

That's exactly what I just mentioned at the ATP thread Johnny, before seeing this.

Dimitrov looks fresh and plays a decent tennis right now but I don't rate too high the opponents he had faced so far and his usually terrible v Federer.

So probably a straight sets  I agree but expect at least 2 of the 3 to be contested (or just hope anyway?) so not too sure about the under guess.

I think Dimitrov has the form but also the belief this time..which made all the difference in the world.

Wolves vs Chelsea (Premier League)

Both teams return after the international break with just one thing on their mind: victory. Wolves have been playing well this season but they still haven't recorded a Premier League win, while Chelsea have been struggling but they do have a positive note in young striker Tammy Abraham scoring five times in the last two matches. Both sides will fight hard for the points in this match, I expect Wolves to edge past Chelsea, but that's not a very safe bet. 

What I would bet on instead is Both Teams to Score, odds are pretty good: 1.71 at NetBet.

Chelsea vs Valencia (UEFA Champions League)

This is one of the most interesting matches of the day in the Champions League, between two sides that have been conceding lots of goals this season but have been scoring a few as well. Chelsea have let in two or more goals in five of their six matches so far this season, while Valencia got beaten 5-2 last weekend by Barcelona. Chelsea got a similar result but they were the 5-2 winners at Wolves. 

It's difficult to predict which of the two teams will win the match, but I would bet again on Both Teams to Score, odds are 1.74 at NetBet. 

Wrong prediction this time, Chelsea were held goalless and Valencia won 1-0.

Yeah, I've had the feeling Valencia could of won that one because of the inconsistency you've might expected from a young Chelsea team but didn't have the bravery to stake it, instead I choose another selections  and it didn't ended so well.

Utrecht vs Willem II plus Lazio vs Genoa

Let's try a Sunday football double, involving two matches between teams that are very capable of scoring goals but that have also conceded quite a bunch of them so far this season. Utrecht and Willem II have conceded 11 goals apiece in 7 matches this season, but Utrecht have scored an impressive 14 so far and I hope they can score at least two again today. Lazio are looking to bounce back from three defeats in their last four matches in all competitions, and their strength is the attack, while Genoa have been leaking quite a few goals this season. 

I would bet on Over 2.5 goals in each of these games, combined odds are 2.32 at NetBet. 

Lazio won 4-0, but Utrecht only managed a 2-0 victory. 

The Bundesliga is the first of the top leagues in Europe to restart after the "coronavirus break", matches will resume this weekend in the top two divisions in German football. That would be a good time to resume betting, and this is what I'd put my money on: 

Union Berlin vs Bayern Munich (Sunday May 17)

Union Berlin have done very well this season, their first ever in the top flight. They are in 11th place at the moment and are quite likely to survive in the Bundesliga. The reverse fixture against champions Bayern was won 2-1 by the giants, but it wasn't an easy match for them. Now, after such a long break, it's difficult to know the exact form of the two sets of players, but this should be a contested match. I expect Bayern to win it, though, thanks to their superior experience and better quality players. 

My bet would be on Bayern to win, odds are 1.2 at NetBet, and I would combine that with Over 2.5 Goals to add another 1.44 to the odds. Total odds for the bet would be 1.73. 

Today I'd bet on a combination of three low-risk matches, yield wouldn't be fantastic but it should be good enough: 

Brondby – Sonderjyske (Danish First League) - Brondby to win, 1.68 at NetBet

Uerdingen – Meppen (German 3rd League) - over 1.5 goals, 1.22 at NetBet

Austria Wien – Admira Wacker (Austrian 1st League) - over 1.5 goals, 1.19 at NetBet

Combined odds would be around 2.44.

The Haifa city derby takes places under special circumstances this time, with no fans in the stands. Maccabi have won the last edition of the derby 3-0, while the previous two ended goalless. They had a much better season than Hapoel so far, and should be able to capitalize on their better form to get another derby victory.

FCU Craiova vs Sepsi Sf Gheorghe (Romanian Cup)

This match is played in the round of sixteen of the Romanian Cup and it is quite important for both teams as they have recently changed their managers after poor runs of form. That said, both sides had problems in defence lately and I think we'll see at least a couple of goals here. 

I would bet on Over 1.5 goals, odds are 1.50 at NetBet. 

Unfortunately it ended just 1-0 for Sepsi in a match with three red cards. 

Union Berlin vs Bayern Munich (Bundesliga)

Bayern Munich suffered a surprising 5-0 defeat against Monchengladbach in the German Cup this week, so they will be eager to redeem themselves and continue their winning streak in the Bundesliga. Union Berlin are a decent side, unbeaten in the last four league matches, but I doubt they'll be able to cope with Bayern today. 

I would bet on Bayern to win with -1.25 Asian Handicap, odds are 1.52 at NetBet.

Villarreal vs Young Boys (UEFA Champions League)

This is a must-win match for Villarreal, as their upcoming two matches are a lot more difficult, against Atalanta and Man United. Moreover, they defeated Young Boys 4-1 in the reverse fixture and the Swiss side has lots of injuries to deal with at the moment.

Barcelona vs Benfica (UEFA Champions League)

This is a decisive match for both sides, Bayern Munich have already qualified from Group E so Barca and Benfica were left to battle for second place. Barcelona have 6 points ahead of this match while Benfica have 4. In the reverse fixture Benfica pulled off a major upset by defeating Barcelona 3-0 and their attacking prowess was on display in their last two league matches as well, which they won 6-1 and 4-1. I believe Benfica will score at Camp Nou as well, but Barcelona will have to deliver their absolute best tonight and score some too. 

So my suggestion would be to bet on Over 2.5 goals, odds are 1.72 at Bet365 at the moment. 

The prediction was totally wrong this time, the match ended 0-0. Not for a lack of scoring chances, there were plenty of those, but it was a great night for the Benfica goalkeeper above all else. 

Leicester vs Legia (UEFA Europa League)

Leicester have been going through a rough patch lately, they are without a win in their last four matches in all competitions, and they really need a confidence boost tonight. The match against Legia is also crucial for qualification, if Leicester win they can go top of the group ahead of the final match against Napoli. Legia have been in terrible form lately, they have lost eight of their last nine matches in all competitions and dropped into the relegation zone in the Polish league. 

All that being said, I think Leicester will be determined to get a good win tonight and I would bet on the Foxes to win with a -1.5 Asian Handicap, odds are 1.50 at NetBet.

Aston Villa vs Manchester City (Premier League)

Aston Villa have been doing well since Steven Gerrard took charge, they have won their last two Premier League matches and stopped a terrible streak of five consecutive defeats. However, those wins were against Brighton and Crystal Palace, teams that are not even close to the quality and power that Manchester City has. As for the Citizens, they did well to defeat West Ham last weekend and keep themselves just one point behind leaders Chelsea. Pep Guardiola and his men can't afford any slip ups here, this is a must-win match for them. 

I would bet on Man City to win with -1 handicap, odds are 1.55 at Bet365. If Man City win by just 1 goal we get our stake back.

I've got a couple of tips from tonight's UEFA Europa Conference League matches, here goes: 

Villarreal vs Hajduk Split - Villarreal to win, odds are 1.22 at Netbet

I think there's a big difference between the two teams and the home side should make that count in order to ensure a quieter second leg next week. 

Istanbul Basaksehir vs Antwerp - Antwerp to score Over 0.5 goals, odds are 1.45 at Netbet

Antwerp are in very good shape at the moment, they have won their last seven matches in all competitions and are leading the Belgian top flight with four wins out of for so far this season.

Let's try some Champions League action today, I'd consider combining these two bets: 

PSV vs Rangers - Both Teams To Score, odds are 1.60 at Netbet

The first leg ended 2-2 and that's not a random occurrence, these two teams have great quality in attack and I believe they will be able to get on the score sheet tonight as well. Both sides scored at least once in their last five competitive matches. 

Dinamo Zagreb vs Bodo/Glimt - Dinamo to score over 1.5 goals, odds are 1.57 at Netbet

The Norwegian side won the first leg 1-0 but it will be extremely difficult for them to defend that advantage in Zagreb as Dinamo are very strong at home. If we look at the Croatian side's last five home matches we see the following results: 4-1 win, 5-2 win, 4-1 win, 2-2 draw, 3-2 win. I believe they will score at least twice tonight as well. 

Combining the two would result in odds of 2.51. 

Just one of the two predictions was correct, Dinamo Zagreb won 4-1 while in the other match Rangers snatched a 1-0 win.

Devvarman’s definitely worth a look for today’s match. He’s got a lot to prove after his injury layoff, and the odds at 1.79 seem pretty solid. If you’re putting down $10, I’d agree with your $9 bet on him.
