    New York Yankees Alex Rodriguez was warned by the Major League Baseball  team commissioner back in 2005 for gambling in underground poker clubs.

    Seems Rodrguez couldn’t stay away from the high stakes tables, playing against celebrities like Tobey Maguire, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Affleck and Matt Damen.

     

    To make matter worse there was cocaine allegedly openly used during the games according to poker pro Dan Bilzerian.

     

    Major League Baseball released a statement saying: “We take this matter very seriously and have been investigating it since the initial investigation. As part of the investigation, the commissioner’s office will interview Mr. Rodriguez.”

     

    Do you think it' fair that sports players are not allowed to play poker?

    No I don't think it's fair that they should not play poker.  I don't think it's right that they should openly take cocaine though.  The message this sends to young kids who adore these sportsmen is not good.

    There shouldn't be any restriction of who can play but depending on the circumstances, being under the influence of using illegal drugs should definitely be pointed out and further more punished in terms of rules.

    I believe Rodriguez has been always on and off the gossip of using steroids in the past and I think he should realize where he stands as being one of examples of good sportsmanship like Blue pointed, bad influence to young viewers.

    It makes no sense that they shouldn't be allowed to play poker. The cocaine should be investigated but not the poker.  :/
