Euro 2012

I don't know if any of you have seen the news regarding the problems surrounding the co-hosts of Euro 2012, Ukraine and the comment by Sol Campbell, advising UK fans to stay at home.

Ukraine's Euro 2012 director Markian Lubkivsky has said that the comments made by Campbell were "insolent". 

There was a BBC documentary about it last night which investigated the violence and racism at football matches in Ukraine and Poland.  I can tell you, it doesn't look pretty.  The police seem to have a free hand about punishment they can hand out to people...even on the streets.  I saw one guy being electrocuted by a copper in the street.  It was horrible.

If you had the time off and enough cash and could afford to go to Euro 2012, would you go?

I've never been to Ukraine, so I don't really know how that country is, but I've been to Poland and it's a beautiful and safe country.

Things might be a bit different in Ukraine but I definitely would go, I think that Campbell overreacted. I don't think it's that dangerous to be honest.

I agree with Johnny, Campbell definitely overreacted and if I could I would certainly go to. I have close friends who went to both Ukraine and Poland and their experiences are really positive.

Why, for me the EURO 2012 is something that I should not miss out. I heard what Campbell said in his comment and I think that it's a bit over the top and irresponsibly made. Sure, the BBC docu made sense and all but I don't think the UEFA people would not take responsibility just to get away from that. I, for one, will definitely visit both Poland and Ukraine if only given the chance. And of course, every EURO is a historic event.

And oh, did I mention that high-speed trains were made for transit between the four EURO 2012 cities? :) I find that one really cool.

Actually, I have no doubts that it will be well-organized event. But I guess we all need some speculations before such an even start. :) I also consider European championships to be really important and I really try to follow them all.

The Euro football tournament is actually my favourite of them all.  I'm certainly looking forward to it. 

I really hope there's no trouble and it is a complete success.
